Disney’s new CGI movie about video games looks okay

Matt Hawkins Contributing Writer, Video Games

The first trailer for Wreck-It Ralph, Disney’s new game-centric CGI comedy, has finally been made public. And it honestly doesn’t look all that bad.

When word first got out about the movie’s existence (and premise) last summer, I’ve been waiting with bated breath for the very first look. Thing is, this whole time, I thought it was a Pixar flick, and not just Disney. Big difference.

Oh well. It still looks relatively decent, far better than anything DreamWorks Animation has managed to produce at least. Sorry, but I find stuff like Shrek and Kung Fu Panda flat out obnoxious. Then again, Disney also made Mars Needs Moms.

At least it has John C. Reilly, whom I dig a lot, and I’m eager to see how many video cameos they managed to fit in. Word on the street was “lots” and it’s looking to be the case thus far. Though I never viewed Zangief as a bad guy. Unless you count the old as hell Street Fighter cartoon.

One more thing: the “game” is playable via the official website.

What'd you think of this?
