E3 2012: What everyone else had to show, part 1
E3 2012 officially comes to a close today. Yay. We’ve spent most of our time on the big three, so let’s see what else everyone’s been up to.
First, a peek at Gears Of War: Judgment. This GoW prequel was mentioned for literally 2 seconds during the MS presser, before being pushed aside from their latest music subscription service that no one will bother signing up for again…
Though Nintendo still takes the cake for having the worst E3 showing of anyone this year. Case in point: a brand new game by Platinum Studios (Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising) for the Wii U that looks insanely awesome, yet which the big N didn’t even bother showing. What the hell…
Capcom apparently had a pretty big presence on the show floor, with the highlight being the upcoming Devil May Cry reboot. Still not a fan of the new Dante, but everything else works for me…
You also had Lost Planet 3. EA’s Dead Space 3 has done an incredible job of taking Lost Planet‘s formula and running with it, but the Capcom’s third take still looks good (plus it has giant robots, which Dead Space lacks)…
For those who are into old Disney cartoons, here we have Epic Mickey 2…
Here’s the teaser for Elder Scrolls Online…
… Are you excited? Well, be sure to look and see how the actual game appears to be. As others have stated, looks EXACTLY like World of Warcraft to me, which pretty much blows.
And finally (at least for now) is the video game adaptation of the Amazing Spider-Man movie…
… I actually got the chance to check the game out first-hand when the game’s developer was in town not too long ago. And it’s quite excellent! Basically Spidey crossed with Grand Theft Auto. A formula that has been tried at least once before, but now technology can finally do the concept justice.
My biggest complaint? I absolutely cannot stand the new Spider-Man outfit, especially what they did to the back, so considering how you’re constantly starring at it in game, the needlessly redesigned attire got on my nerves a bit more than it should have. And that’s seriously it; will discuss more at a later date.
But that’s not all, so be sure to be on the look out for the rest of E3 2012, part two, in just a few.
