Facebook finds new way to shame humanity
We’re all members of a Facebook group. If you’re on Facebook, it’s completely unavoidable, especially since you can be forcibly added to groups against your will. But now Groups have become even more intense engines of annoyance… because they’re tracking whether or not you read posts.
We are not making this up. Starting today, any post in a Facebook Group will track the number of views its gotten and those allowed to see the post can hover over it and a little list will appear of who’s bothered to take a look.
If this sounds like a terrible idea, you’re in good company. This is going to get ugly and fast. Facebook is already a bottomless pit of narcissism and this just caters to it. Even worse will be the fact that inevitably this is going to be rolled out to profiles. Now people will know that you’ve seen a status, whether you want them to or not.
So, get ready for even more stupid arguments and shaming over Facebook. It’s a convenient new feature! Thanks so much!
