First look at the upcoming live-action ‘Halo 4′ web series

Earlier this morning, we mentioned the forthcoming live-action Street Fighter series, which was a pleasant surprise, but what everyone REALLY wants is a first taste of the previously announced live-action Halo 4 tie-in. And that time is now.

Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn was announced a while ago, when the Halo 4 hype machine was first kicking into high gear. Some things are known already, like how it centers on a cadet who is inspired by Master Chief, and how it will directly tie into the plot of the new game.

Oh, also, the budget for the five episodes serial is between 5-10 million dollars. That’s a lot for something just on YouTube. Yet the teaser above honestly looks like every other fan-made production out there.

You see, the reason why those generally suck is because they lack the money for a proper, real-life realization of the Halo universe. Hence why 99% of the time is spent at the academy and not on the front, where students are yelled at by their superiors, look at fancy HUDs, and get into fights at the mess hall.

Instead of having exchanges with The Covenant, the stuff everyone really wants to see, because that would require lots of money. So what do we have here? Students being yelled at by their superiors, looking at fancy HUDs, and getting into fights at the mess hall. Great.

Yes, there’s some explosions near the end, and even Master Chief. Voiced by someone else (what the hell) and wearing the same helmet that you got if you pre-ordered part 3. Thus far, not impressed.

What'd you think of this?
