Aperion Summit wireless speaker system configures itself for you
The Aperion Summit wireless speaker system for 5.1 or 7.1 sound is seemingly perfect, especially for non-audiophiles who don’t want to spend hours placing speakers and stringing wire. But there is one drawback to it.
First, the superlatives, though. Aperion has done away with the tyranny of receivers: Now there’s just a small box you use to send a wireless signal to every speaker.
In addition, the brain in this box looks at your speaker layout and creates an optimal sound design, putting each channel in its proper place, no matter how you place it. No test tones, no reconfiguration, click, boom, done. Once you use the remote, it adjusts the sound to your location, giving you a perfect sound every time.
So what’s the drawback? The price? Well, no. I guess $3000 is a lot of money for a set of speakers, but considering some home theater speakers will run you five figures, it’s not that expensive relatively. No, the problem is the power demands. The good news is that each speaker is independently powered. The bad news is that means you’ll have to figure out how to plug each one into the wall.
But hey, for sound like this? It’s worth it.
