Collapsible silicone coffee pot: finally, a decent cup of coffee while hiking

slickboil 1 309x195 Collapsible silicone coffee pot: finally, a decent cup of coffee while hikingThe great outdoors are a lot of fun to hike through, but there are some downsides to roughing it. One of the biggest is the total lack of decent coffee. Ask any dedicated hiker or mountain climber: making coffee is rough when you’re roughing it, usually due to the lack of a decent pot to boil water in. And yet, coffee is crucial, if for no other reason than it generally keeps groups of people from killing each other in the wild.

Thanks to the wonders of silicone rubber, though, we’ve solved this problem.

It’s such a simple design it seems odd nobody’s whipped it out before now: a stainless steel bottom with a silicon rubber body and heat resistant handles. It’s collapsible, taking up only two and a half inches when folded up, and can tolerate heat up to 500 degrees, more than enough to make a decent cup of java.

And, of course, it’s durable: silicone rubber can take a lot of abuse, and anything you want to boil in this collapsible kettle will be no problem. Even the price is a good deal: you can get this for $35, making it an ideal present for the camper, hiker, or former frat brother living in a microscopic apartment. After all, lack of space is no reason civilized people can’t get their caffeine fix. Especially if the alternative is someone getting strangled.
