E3 2011: everything Ubi Soft had to offer

Matt Hawkins Contributing Writer, Video Games

Time now to see how the French powerhouse publisher wowed the crowd. Nothing too ground breaking here, but some of it sure is pretty…

First off, MS had the new Call of Duty to show off, EA had the new Battlefield, and Ubi’s contribution to the insanely detailed and tightly choreographed military FPS dance is the new Far Cry…

Not only that, but there’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier, which was what the Ubi big boss demonstrated with the Kinect. I believe it’s a safe bet that most folks won’t be bothering with the hands free…

But that’s not all! There’s also Brothers In Arms: Furious Four, which is clearly inspired by Inglourious Basterds (hence why it’s the only one of the three I actually care about)…

The trailer for Assassin’s Creed Revelation has the dudes from the previous installments getting together, to just chill (sorta)…

Considering what a dying breed arcade racers have become (god I loved Split/Second from last year; too bad no one else did), this Trackmania 2 trailer fills me with so much joy for a number of reasons…

Speaking of racers, remember the Driver series? Well, Ubi’s hoping you do, and to then pick up either part 4, 5, or 7 in the series, I’ve officially lost track…

For whatever reason, Ubi never got the memo that the music game genre is dead. So perhaps no better time to introduce a game that legit looks like playing a real guitar?

For fans of the Raving Rabbids series, and French humor in general (no worries, won’t hold it against you), it’s coming out for the Kinect and doesn’t look half bad I must admit…

Last but not least is glorious return of the little limbless dude that first put Ubi on the map (and much like other mascots, found himself in a litany of dumb remakes and mini game collections) in a 2D adventure, like God had always intended…

What'd you think of this?
