Fusiontables: finally, a classy dining table and a pool table in one place

Dan Seitz Contributing Writer, Tech

Most guys own one when they’re single, and have to give it up at some point: a pool table. And it’s sad, because pool is fun, but pool tables take up a lot of space. Not without reason, either: they’re precisely designed. Still, it’s a tragedy to let your days of playing pool go just because you’re in a house with actual furniture you paid for instead of scavenging from Freecycle.

The Fusiontable is actually a pretty simple concept: it’s a full pool table designed to have an actual tabletop laid over it and used for eating, socializing, and other non-billiards related activities. Then, when you’re done, take off the tabletop (we recommend removing the dishes first), and shoot some pool.

There’s some really clever design, beyond the obvious. The table is designed to store the balls on the pool table itself, away from the pockets, so your guests aren’t being whacked by balls while eating. Wait, what did we just say?

The pockets themselves are designed out of memory cloth, so they simply fold up with no balls in them. It’s also simple to set up and make level. Oh, and the dining room table is actually fairly classy itself.

Of course, this kind of luxury will run you a pretty penny: Fusiontables are currently going to $7000. But, hey, become a pool shark and you’ll make that money back in no time!
