I Want: A 400-disc Blu-ray changer
Douglas Charles Okay, so I don’t own a single Blu-ray disc or a Blu-ray player (yet), but I think that once I own this bad boy, it’ll be all the motivation I’ll need to start spending my paycheck like no tomorrow…
…very soon we will see two new Blu-ray products from Sony: BDP-CX960 and BDP-CX7000ES. Most likely the CX960 will feature a 200 disc changer and top of the line ES model (Elevated Standard) will have 400 disc capacity. I was able to dig out an approximate price of the ES model – a quick search on Google brings up a Swiss product page listing the price of 2509.45 CHF (about $2250).
Let’s see… 400 Blu-ray discs at say a conservative average of $20 a piece (gotta look for deals) is, um, $8,000… just for the discs. Hrm… Maybe I’ll just stick with my DVDs for a bit longer.
