Innergie Magic Cable Duo charges two items at once
Dan Seitz You’ve got a lot of gadgets. This is a given: you own a laptop, you have a smartphone, you probably have an ereader or small tablet, especially if you travel a lot. And lots of gadgets mean, of course, lots of chargers; one for each, because that’s not a huge pain in the ass or anything.
Fortunately, Innergie realizes you don’t want to haul around five pounds of chargers, so they have a surprisingly simple and elegant solution.
And that solution is…two USB ports on a wall wart.
OK, that sounds like a title in the Biggest Collection of Nerd Porn Ever, but what it actually means is you just use the cable you normally use to plug your device into your computer into the Duo instead. Duo goes into wall, and charges both items. No five pounds of chargers, no crowded plugs, no deciding which object to charge first. Just quick, simple charging. Even better, you can use it in your car with the cigarette outlet version.
Even better, it comes with a custom cable that will offer either a microUSB port that plugs into an iPod adapter, or a microUSB, miniUSB, and iPod adapter stacked on the cable. In short, you can also just bring one cable with you and really save some space.
How much will such convenience cost? $40 for the outlet version, $35 for the car version, and $50 for both. And worth it, if for no other reason than you never have to worry about having the right cable again.
