Insane slingshot genius turns steak knives into Steaksaw

Dan Seitz Contributing Writer, Tech

Joerg Sprave is a name you’ve probably heard of. He’s the guy who builds slingshots. All sorts of insane slingshots, and not lighthearted little kids toys. The man builds weapons that could easily drop a rhino, and cackles with child-like glee while he does it.

To give you an idea of how cool/insane he is, his YouTube followers asked him to build a slingshot that would fire a machete, and he did it. We feature him a lot, most recently for his pencil firing slingshot, but this has to take the cake: a circular saw made with a drill, some particle board, some tubing and eight steak knives. He calls it the Steaksaw.

It lives up to its name.

Yes, you just saw it shred a watermelon and trash a can of beer in slow-motion.

As Sprave himself notes, this is simple to build at home (note: DON’T BUILD THIS AT HOME), and really only limited by the power of the cheap drill he bought from the German version of Home Depot. In theory, he could attach a plug-in, high-power drill and then we’d really be talking.
