LaGrange L1 skateboard truck electrifies any skateboard
Skateboards are actually fairly useful for getting around. They’re fairly speedy, easy to use, and take up a lot less room than a bicycle. Also people don’t automatically assume you’re a self-righteous douche when you’re on a skateboard. But unfortunately, motorized skateboards cost a mint and aren’t exactly easy to put together.
This is where Red Rock Boardshop, and their LaGrange L1 truck, comes in.
The idea behind the L1 is pretty simple. No matter what kind of board you want to build, it’s designed to make it possible for you to electrify it. Everything from your crappy old plank from high school to your finely crafted longboard can be modified with it.
There are a few trade-offs. The truck itself is pretty costly: It’ll run you $300 for a do-it-yourself kit. Also, the battery isn’t self contained, but will instead require a battery in your pack that you’ll hook up, fortunately with a quick-release so you don’t get tangled.
On the other hand, it does make commuting on a skateboard much more viable. And at least nobody thinks a skateboarder is a douche.
