LimbIc chair made in an F1 factory, not as awesome as that sounds
My job is to bring you technology practical, awesome, and/or ridiculous. This chair falls into two of those categories.
The LimbIc chair is designed to be an ergonomic chair you can sit in for long periods of time. You might have noticed it splits in the middle. That’s because the two parts of the seat, which are made out of carbon fiber, are designed to cradle your legs independently. The idea is that instead of sitting motionlessly, you’re moving constantly in tiny motions to sit up straight, thus keeping your body awake and active.
The inventor, Dr. Patrik A. Künzler, claims that this stimulates the limbic system, giving you a feeling of pleasure and weightlessness. It’s also supposed to improve the health of your spine by strengthening your spinal muscles.
Personally, I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that the good doctor’s claims are a total load, but that chair would be one hell of a conversation piece at the office. I say “would” because unless you own the office, you’ll be paying $8500 out of your own pocket to enjoy a custom wobbly butt cradle of your very own. Besides, yoga balls let women grind out orgasms while working, and who wants to take that away?
