Mac OS X Lion available in Apple Store for $29.99
Mac OSX Lion, Apple’s newest operating system (10.7 for you math junkies), is finally available in the Apple Store.
One of the only catches, though, is that you have to have already upgraded to Snow Leopard (10.6) from Leopard (10.5)
Lion cites beefed up security, computability (you can move everything from your old PC to your new Mac with ease, apparently) and accessibility as the three biggest things that the new operating system brings to the table.
One interesting feature, as pictured right, is the dock vs. launchpad — items bought in the App Store can be saved and stored on the desktop for easier access using the launchpad.
Whether or not that affects the 5,000 screenshots I take (and save to my desktop everyday) remains to be seen.
Generally speaking, a lot of the features built into Lion appear to be tailored towards bringing PC users over to Mac.
That shouldn’t be a surprise — it’s the obvious goal (and once you go Mac, you never go back, sigh).
And it’s also why many analysts believe Apple’s going to cruise past $600/share on the market this year.
