MagFilter: Take better pictures with your tiny camera
Nobody expects a tiny point-and-shoot camera to be taking pictures of utter glory. For example, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to get filters for your Canon Powershot.
But if you own a fairly high-end compact camera, MagFilter is aiming to help you improve your pictures just a little bit.
The MagFilter system pretty much tells you everything you need to know about it in the name. You glue a metal ring to the outside of your lens, and the filters in question just click onto it. The lens will zoom and focus just like it would normally, but you’ll be able to swap out filters with relative ease.
Currently, there’s only one filter available, the polarizer. But that might actually be incredibly useful even if you only use your camera for point-and-shoot photography, as a polarizing filter increases contrast in the image. So if you’re in an area, like say outside on a sunny day with a lot of light, a polarizing filter might be of a lot of use.
Besides, it will only run you about $27, and isn’t better photography worth that?
