MP3 hat will at least make sure you don’t drop your iPhone

hat 309x173 MP3 hat will at least make sure you dont drop your iPhoneIt’s winter, and with winter comes a whole host of first world problems surrounding your MP3 player. You want to skip the song, but you can’t take your hands out of your pockets. Your headphones get tangled in your scarf. You’re scared to drop something expensive in the slush at your feet. Your armband doesn’t fit over your jogging fleece.

Well, there’s a device that solves all these problems, provided, of course, you’re willing to look like you’ve got a mind control implant on your noggin.

The device in question is the MP3 Beanie, which has a few really innovative ideas. First of all, there are conduits for your earbuds right in the hat, so they automatically attach and string to your ears, no problem. Secondly, there’s an MP3 player, rechargeable using USB, on the hat. It just pops on or off, you slot in your headphones, and you’re off.

There are, of course, a few downsides. The first being that you’ve got a gigantic glowing dot on the back of your head. The second is that this is not a great MP3 player: it only has 2GB of memory and lasts about six hours on a full charge. In other words, it’s a semi-crappy Shuffle.

On the bright side, it’ll only run you thirty bucks for the finest in Chinese quality, so at least this experiment won’t cost a lot.
