Soundfreaq makes the only iPhone dock you’ll ever need
iPhones and iPads are great and all, and for music, cross them with a locker service and they’re even better. There’s just one teeny tiny problem: actually getting the music to play out of the things at a volume higher than tinny for parties. But the wireless music ninjas at Soundfreaq have made the only one you’ll ever need.
That would be the Sound Stack. Soundfreaq aims squarely at audiophiles: everything about this has been designed to deliver the highest conceivable performance. Each speaker has two full frequency drivers, and a subwoofer, in a technology they’re calling DubSub. It gives the bass signal a real kick without sacrificing any of the other frequencies, which is pretty hard to pull off, especially with the way modern music is mixed.
The wireless options are just as tasty; it operates over Bluetooth, so you can simply have any cell phone find it, fire up your streaming app of choice, and you’ve got tune playing in high fidelity. And, for the Apple crowd, it comes with an iPod and iPad connection built into the base, so you can just slot it in and charge it up while playing DJ. But if you’re on a Droid, don’t despair: there’s also a USB hookup, so you won’t be left out.
The one downside? Quality costs: the Sound Stack will run you $400. But it’s a small price to pay for the best sound you’ll get.
