There are two things nerds love to do: build things that are absolutely useless but nonetheless awesome, and miniaturize objects until they are absolutely useless but nonetheless awesome. Patelo, a Spanish engineer, has possibly achieved the greatest of both, making a V-12 that might be able to power an RC car.

And he built all the parts from scratch, except for the screws, just in case you were wondering how obsessive he was. Here’s the full video of him putting this tiny little dynamo together:

And no, you can’t buy one. On the other hand, if you’ve got 1200 hours and engineering experience, you can make one. So there’s that.
