There are not one, but three, water-powered jet vehicles in the world

Dan Seitz Contributing Writer, Tech

If you’ve ever seen a firehose knock somebody flat on their ass, you know that a jet of water can have a lot of power behind it. And, if you’re rich and insane, you’ve thought, “Man, I wish I could strap that to my back and ride around on it!”

Now you can!

There are, as we mentioned, three water-powered jet vehicles out there. One is the Jetlev Flyer:

Yes, that’s a jetpack with a water hose stuck up its butt. Yes, that man is flying on two jets of water. Yes, it’s offensively expensive: $100,000, but rentals are available.

But maybe you want to fly like Iron Man, with jets at your feet and stabilizers spraying out of your hands. Then you’d want the Zapata Flyboard:

That costs eight grand, although you’ll have to provide your own pump and other parts to get it fully functional.

Or maybe you’d rather ride around on an ATV, except it’s powered by jets of water:

That’ll run you $9000, again, with you buying other parts.

We guess the point is, we live in a world where you can spend lots of money on frivolous items solely to feel like a superhero.

This is why we love the future.
