For gamers who live in high-risk areas, or like pretending that they do

Calibur11′s Battlefield 3 case mods are perfect for people whose consoles are constantly at risk of being shot at or blown up… or so they like to believe. And have money to burn, let’s not forget that either.

First person shooter fanatics, primarily ones who are way into military simulations, have a somewhat unfortunate and nasty stigma attached, which is how they’re way too concerned with the manliness quotient in their games.

Pro-tip: if the game you like, or even the console itself, is available at Toys R Us, not too far from where they sell Barbies, and that’s a problem, time to get another hobby.

Anyhow, Calibur11, a company that creates ultra classy looking case mods (just take a look at their Gears of War 3 model), are not helping matters much. Specifically their new line of Battlefield 3 themes console covers. You’ve got one for the PS3

And one for the Xbox 360

There’s a part that sticks out that’s supposed to hold headphones, which is nice, and there’s another part that sticks out cuz it’s supposed to look like a giant claymore mine. Yup.

And best part is how one can personalize them. With the supplemental Apocalypse Pack, one can add a hanging chain and shotgun shells, or with the Mercenary pack, you can also slap on a machine gun cartridge.

Both the PS3 and 360 Battlefield “Vaults” cost €89.99 each. That’s $124 each. And the adds-ons are $41 a pop.

What'd you think of this?
