Having problems playing LA Noire? You’re not alone

What was thought to be even more egg on Sony’s face has turned out to be an issue that exists on both platform: Rockstar’s latest and greatest is causing consoles to overheat.

The first reports came on Sony’s side, and according to a Rockstar support page that has since deleted that Destructoid still managed to pull a quote from, before it went AWOL, it was implied that Sony’s brand new firmware was the culprit.

But it has since been revealed that those on the Xbox 360 are having problems; according to Kotaku, many players state that their games are freezing and locking up. Opps!

Since then, Rockstar has come clean and admitted that they’re aware of the problem, and even provides some workarounds till a proper solution has been devised.

Their suggestions can be found here, and it’s interesting to note that, perhaps understandably, their troubleshooting steps is heavily reliant upon making sure that the system is not the culprit and not the game. Also, a few involve testing the game out on another system, which is a pain in the ass, and if all else fails, emailing them the save file (PS3 version only apparently) for Rockstar to make the final call.

Or how about I suggest waiting till an update is available and just play another game till then?

What'd you think of this?
