The PlayStation Vita’s US release date officially dated
For those who want Sony’s next gaming handheld, mark your calendars.
The official release date for us Americans and those in Europe is February 22nd. Prices for US customers will be $249.99 for the Wi-Fi model and $299.99 for the 3G model. In the UK, £229 and £279 respectively.
Here’s a look at the book we’ll be looking at in the States…
… Yeah, I know. F’n AT&T. Virtually all my buddies with iPhone 4Ss, which supposedly has faster download/upload speeds than the Verizon and Sprint counterparts have all said the same thing: still can’t do sh*t with the phone, thanks to the crap network.
Pre-orders just opened up in Japan (they get theirs December 17th) and reports state that the 3G model is the most popular one. Hardly a shock given that their wireless infrastructure blows away ours.
Interest in general is also quite heavy. I must admit, back when the system was announced, I wondered about the platform’s viability. This was when it was a given that the 3DS would just rule the world. What a difference a few short months back.
But aside from Nintendo’s effort being a complete mess, a number of genuinely awesome Vita games are on the way, making the thing a legit must have. I was so pissed that the Persona 4 remake is coming out for the thing, since that means that I HAVE to get one, whether I like it or not.
Though it’s always been strongest in Japan, thanks to the Monster Hunter phenomena, which most Americans could give a rat’s ass about. So most of their games should be of little interest to Americans.
So moving on, what’s coming out here? A bunch of stuff; thus far we know of Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Sound Shapes, Resistance: Burning Skies, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty, and FIFA. With many more sure to come.
