There’s a new ‘South Park’ game on the horizon & there’s a good chance that it’ll be awesome

Why? Very simple: it’s being developed by Obsidian, the folks behind Fallout: New Vegas, among other games.

The beans were spilled when Game Informer revealed the cover to their upcoming January issue….

Details are sparse at the moment; naturally, they want you to buy the issue to get the full rundown. Though some facts are known: first, as stated above, it’s being developed by a studio with actual pedigree (personally, I’m still fond of their very first game, The Sith Lords for the Xbox 1).

Second, and perhaps even more importantly, show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are very much involved with the project. They’re writing the script and performing the dialogue, plus much more.

As for the game itself, given the developer’s expertise, it shouldn’t be a shocker to hear that it’s a RPG. You apparently are the new kid in South Park, where you’ll making pals (presumably Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and even Cartman, plus Butters hopefully) and defending your new hometown from all sorts of wackiness.

No release window has been given, but at least we know it’s headed to Xbox 360, PS3, and the PC. Did I also mention that it’ll probably be awesome? Just making sure.

What'd you think of this?
