This weekend’s the perfect time to score a 3DS and some games for hella cheap
As previous noted, today is the day in which the price of the somewhat trouble Nintendo handheld gets a price cut. Though this weekend might be an especially good time to get it cheaper than what Nintendo is asking!
First off, as some of you might have heard at the time, many retailers had slashed the price of the 3DS well before it was officially supposed to. Which meant that the best of both words: the lower price point for those still on the fence, plus all the free NES and GBA games for early adopters.
Still, for those who missed out on that (sorry, but I have to assume that pretty much everyone at this point already has 7 copies of Super Mario Bros), don’t fret. After all, would you rather save even more money for some new games instead? If you take your older DS to either Gamestop or Target, you’ll be able to nab some pretty sweet deals.
First, Gamestop is offering $99 if you trade in a DS Lite, DSi, or DSi XL. Sorry owners of the old school, original design. Thing is, you’ve to be a member of their lame ass rewards membership (which costs $15, let you spend $12 on a used game that has tons of scratches and smells like ass instead of $15, joy of joys), PLUS a stupid coupon that one must actually print up from their website. But hey, if you’re already a member and don’t mind killing trees, that’s one option.
The other is a tad bit better. Target is accepting trade-ins, though the amount differs on what kind of system you have. A DSi XL will get you $100, a DSi $75. Sadly, DS Lite folks only get $40. Sorry folks. But hey, no coupon needed, or yet another dumb membership to sign up for. Also, the deal ends after tomorrow, so there’s not much time to screw around!
Now, what about games for your new system? Or what if you just want something for that Xbox 30 or PS3 of yours? All this weekend is a buy one game, get another at 50% deal over at Amazon. Lots of great stuff is up for grabs, like Catherine, Portal 2, and… well, I hear those Lego games are actually pretty neat! You can check out the entire offering here.
