VIDEO: A name makes a warrior, especially if you’re a “Noob”
Instead of watching the latest chapter of Mortal Kombat: Legacy, here’s a clip about Noob Saibot instead?
It’s kinda funny how Noob has evolved over the years; originally he was just some hidden character in part 2 (his handle is derived from the last names of the game’s creators, spelled backwards) and basically the sprite for Scorpion, but all blacked out. I think in part 3, it was Kano’s?
Anyhow, you later found out that it was the original Sub Zero from part 1, who had been killed by Scorpion… who in part 2 felt bad about it and became the new Sub Zero’s guardian angel. He was the original’s younger brother. And then in part 6 or 7, lil bro Zero founds out the truth from undead older bro and gets pissed at his b-fry. Around that point, Noob has aligned himself with Smoke, another palette swap character, who then became a cyber ninja in part 3, and together they try to create some bad-ass cyber demon ninja clone army to conquer the universe. Or something like that.
Hey, as retarded as it might sound, it’s at least somewhat interesting. And a strong contrast to the snoozer of the tale that continues to be weaved in this week’s installment of Mortal Kombat: Legacy…
It’s quite clear that, yes, they have officially completely run out of money for any further special effects, decent fight choreography, and good ideas in general. Oh well, was fun while it lasted.
