VIDEO: Cole Phelps is looking more and more like a dirty cop

Matt Hawkins Contributing Writer, Video Games

Things keep looking worse and worse for Rockstar’s latest and greatest. Long story short: don’t expect LA Noire 2 anytime soon.

We’ve already know Phelps totally sucks at his job, and on a more serious note, about the behind the scenes drama. Well, more bad news; first courtesy of G4…

Here we have an actual cop breakdown all the detective work in the game. And perhaps not surprisingly, the game is filled with inaccuracies. LAPD vet Skip Bauchman does try to give it the benefit of the doubt, by stating that he’s not super familiar with how they did things during the 40s. But the dude’s an actual cop, so I trust his instincts.

Next, some follow-up, re: reports that making of the game was an absolute nightmare. Things hinted at with IGN’s original story has been elaborated upon via an expanded report via GamesIndustry, which has reproduced several internal emails that paints Team Bondi’s big boss, Brendan McNamara, as a bigger douche than before.

Again, it was Rockstar who came in and saved the day, as they found themselves tossing more and more buckets into the sinking ship. Everything from programmers to artists to even Q&A, to the point that Team Bondi… well McNamara and his buddies… began to become resentful with too much outside interference (which it would seem, is what actually salvaged the doomed project).

It was even revealed that at Rockstar will no longer will be working with Team Bondi, and furthermore, there was plans at one point for the team to essentially become “Rockstar Sydney”, but that was before they discovered what a clusterf*ck they were.

Man, talk about an opportunity blown.

What'd you think of this?
