VIDEO: Even the star of ‘The Legend of Zelda’ must resort to selling the Triforce in this crappy economy

Matt Hawkins Contributing Writer, Video Games

I guess those residual checks from Nintendo for The Legend of Zelda aren’t so hot after-all.

When I first stumbled across the Joystiq post from which the following comes from, I was super pysched, because I assumed it was along the line of this; instead of a doofus dressed up as Master Chief in a real pawn shop, it was some doofus cosplaying as Link. Unfortunately, it’s just one of another wacky parody YouTube. But on the plus side, it stars the same two dudes from that Mario and Toad as best buds clip that I dug so much…

What I want to know is why Link isn’t selling one of the countless other piece of junk that he acquires in every adventure instead. I know gold is a solid investment and all (as my Ron Paul loving, “dude, the world economy is going to collapse any moment; get rid of your cash and exchange it for precious metals ASAP” pals like to remind me, literally every 5 minutes via their Facebook wall posts). But I’m also certain that the hook shot, or better yet, that remote control flying beetle from Skyward Sword would fetch primo dollars! Unless those were already parted ways with on Craigslist.

What'd you think of this?
