VIDEO: Get ready for some old school Mortal Kombat next week (and a sitcom)

Matt Hawkins Contributing Writer, Video Games

It’s called striking while the iron is hot; the first three MKs are coming out next week in one tight little package.

No doubt the creators of Mortal Kombat would love nothing more than to bring out a sequel as soon as possible, since for the first time in a very long while, the property is scorching red hot. But since that takes time (and honestly, I hope they don’t rush and do part 10 justice), they’re doing the next best thing: re-release some old games.

August 31 will be “Mortal Wednesday”, when the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection is unleashed. Included is the arcade original, it’s sequel, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. All for a bargain basement price of $10. If I’m not mistaken, that’s the price of the stand alone UMK3 that’s been on Xbox Live for ages now!

Anyhow, this news is awesome, cuz it allows me to post yet another wacky Mortal Kombat clip, which was my favorite thing to do whenever a installment of Legacy showed up…

What'd you think of this?
