It’s coming along quite nicely! Granted, it still doesn’t look very noirish at this point, but maybe they’re waiting for the full-on presentation for the final product. And while the character models and animation all look sharp, they’re still kinda “off” for a lack of a better term. Actually, me thinks the real culprit here is the lighting, which is not good for a game whose very title implies a stylized method of lighting it’s subject. But again, there’s still time.
I just hope it plays more like Grand Theft Auto 4 and less like Red Dead Redemption. The latter is still one of the most eye-popping titles to date, but you just couldn’t screw around and have mindless fun as you could in Liberty City. Though it’s the late 40s, so things will have to accurately reflect the times; I’m hoping for the chance to just lounge around your posh downtown LA apartment all day long in front of the radio, listening to some drama about Nazis getting destroyed, one that’s narrated by Bas Rutten. Come on Rockstar, make it happen!
