Matt Hawkins Excuse the pun. But yeah, the latest installment picks up directly where we last left off, with Sub Zero giving Scorpion a good reason to hate his guts for a very long time...
Overall, a pretty satisfying episode. Somewhat predictable, but there are certainly worse offenses. At the least the fight scene was decent. Plus hearing the yellow one’s say his trademark phrase in Japanese was an excellent touch, that’s for sure.
Only real complaint was Quan Chi. God I hate that character; he’s the main reason why I stopped caring about Mortal Kombat original, that and I wasn’t so down with the move away from sprites. But hey, he’s important to MK lore. Also, wish Sub Zero’s outfit was a little cooler, but that’s nit picking.
Hey, speaking of outfits, Sub Zero’s and Scorpion’s original duds will soon be made available in the new game via DLC…
… Again, glad I didn’t bother with that pre-order b.s. nonsense! Though truth be told, it’s Lizard and Ermac, as well as Mileena vs Kitana, who benefit the most. Their new duds look like ass. BTW, the package also includes classic fatalities and another new character! Granted, it’s another palette swap, based upon a programming glitch from back in the day, but still…
Coming next week to Xbox 360 owners and maybe never to PS3 folks!
