VIDEO: The first pointless sequel of 2012 is ‘The Naked Gun: I.C.U.P.’
Matt Hawkins The following makes me mad for various reasons, like how cheap the Naked Gun license apparently was.
Like seriously. I probably could have purchased the chance to make a crappy smart phone game featuring Leslie Nielsen’s most beloved character of my own with the money I set aside for laundry each week, or so it would seem. Anyway, here’s the trailer…
To be completely honest, the idea of an adventure game that taps into the Naked Gun franchise is actually great on paper. Until one realized that similar efforts starring Back To The Future and Jurassic Park have totally sucked. It’s just super hard making an adventure game these days.
Even still, the quality of the voice acting alone of Frank Drebin Jr. is beyond atrocious. I’d much rather take a low-rent imitation of Leslie Nielsen than whoever the hell phoned in his performance above any day. And according to Kotaku, the game’s jokes are being penned by the person who wrote the third movie. Which they also point out as sorta sucking. Wonderful.
