VIDEO: The main reason why you got a 3DS in the first place is finally here

For those who have been living under a rock, the Ocarina of Time 3D is finally out. And time for a new generation of gamers to get annoyed by that stupid fairy sidekick of yours.

Many to this very day still firmly believe that Ocarina of TIme is the best Zelda game ever, as well as the best video game period. Both points that are impossible to argue. And what makes it so? Where to start… For me personally, two things stand-out: the controls are still amazing, with Z-targeting essentially being the wheel that was crafted during the caveman days of 3D platformer, and the story still holds up.

As awesome as the previous installments were, the tales they told were nothing truly special and only really worked for the times they were in. In fact, if one tries to view the story from Zelda 1, in light of the narrative and logic that’s presented in Ocarina, as unfair as that might be, it truly makes no sense (but hey, that could be said for all games back in the day)…

Another reason why Zelda is so beloved is cuz you know it’s going to be good. Even though a few entries have confused the hell out of people (Majora’s Mask & Windwaker basically), everyone can agree that it’s still a rock solid game. Cuz consistency and delivering on promises is somewhat few and far between in gaming today. As Destructoid if you talk to talk, you had better damn walk the walk…

But yeah, now I really want a 3DS! This totally sucks. Add in the fact that the Game Boy Color version is also available on the eShop, and it’s all the harder to risk temptation. Was really expecting an announcement of a redesign system at E3, which obviously didn’t happen. And maybe they can fix the sucky battery issue via firmware updates? Every other system issue, software at least, has been fixed in such manner.

Though when I do get my copy, I ain’t gonna be this guy… [EDIT: the video of some fat guy at Gamestop actually playing an Ocraina at the counter I was gonna post has since been pulled, but at least you can check out the comments on Reddit from which I found it from]
