VIDEO: The next Mortal Kombat character is… Freddy Krueger?

When it was promised that another DLC character would be unveiled at San Diego Comic Con, everyone (including myself) assumed it was yet another old face from an old MK at best, or another pallet swapped character more than likely.
Last thing anyone could have guessed was everyone’s nightmare from Elm Street…
Now that is a way to grab everyone’s attention and make everyone care about Mortal Kombat, even those who have not given a rat’s ass up till this point. And can you believe hardcore gamers are less than impressed? Jesus…
There’s only one problem: he’s oddly silent. Was really hoping to hear the general gibber jabber that Freddy is known for. Perhaps all that is being saved for later on? Though no buys if they get anyone other than Robert Englund (my big fear is that him not being present is the reason for the silence).
