VIDEO: ‘Resident Evil: Retribution’ looks confusing, even by ‘Resident Evil’ movie standards

Matt Hawkins Contributing Writer, Video Games

Yesterday saw the world premier of Resident Evil, the video game, part 6. Well, here we have the trailer to Resident Evil, the movie, part 5...

Okay, a couple of things:

- I clearly haven’t been keeping up; I had no idea that, in addition to zombies, the RE movies had DRAGONS.
- Umm, music from Tron 2? Really?!
- My fave YouTube comment at the moment: “pretty racist how the asian man is on the great wall of china”
- I love people bitching about the return of the Michelle Rodriguez character, who died in the first movie, as if logic has any place in this series. Also, $20 says she’s a clone like Milla Jovovich’s character (yes, I actually watch these movies, so help me God).
- Another $20 says that all the people who were rescued at the end of the last flick (I’m guessing the new movie picks up immediately where things were left off) are all killed in a heartbeat.
- So Ada Wong is in this one! And that’s pretty neat.

And once again, fans of the games are bitching and moaning about the fact that yet another movie has hit the scene that has little to do with the source material. Like the plots of the games are all that enthralling to being with.

Also, why do they keep making crap like this? Cuz people keep seeing them, obviously! As well I, though either Milla makes out with a clone of herself in this one, or I may actually have to give up on this franchise, once and for all.

What'd you think of this?
