VIDEO: This Saturday will be the biggest strike against Sony by Anonymous yet

For those who thought the onslaught against the house that PlayStation built by those who lurk in the darkest recesses of 4chan (and 7chan, plus 11chan) was over, they are most definitely wrong.

As noted last time, “Operation: Sony” started primarily when the electronic entertainment mega-corp decided to go after the hacker that cracked their PS3′s firmware, George “GeoHot” Hotz, in a particularly aggressive manner. So when both parties ended up settling out of court a few days ago, many figured that the initiative was done and over with, but that’s clearly not the case. In fact, Anonymous has only gotten started…

I had no idea Sony asked Facebook and YouTube to hand over IP addresses of those who viewed videos by GeoHot. Sorry, but that is kinda f’d up. So to deliver Sony a message they’ll never forget, the plan is this…

“This April 16th, grab your mask, a few friends, and get to a local sony store by you. Use the IRC and the official Facebook page to organize a protest in your area. Make sure the people know the injustices performed by this corrupt company. Boycott all Sony products and if you have recently purchased any, return them.”

Not gonna lie; I find the idea of droves of folks going to Best Buy to purchase PS3s, and then immediately returning them to clog up the customer service counters kinda amusing. Though I also have to wonder if, deep down in their ranks, those who profess to stick by the Anonymous war against Sony, will still be purchasing the PS3 version of L.A. Noire, which has recently been revealed to have context exclusive to that version.

What'd you think of this?
