VIDEO: This ‘Zelda’ fan flick looks absolutely horrifying

Sure it’s impressive for a one-person operation, but it’s still the stuff of nightmares.

Remember The Legend of Zelda: The Light of Courage? Well, the following is somewhat the same thing, but it’s completely straight. None of the laughs are at all intentional.

Long story short: “Coloniser” on YouTube, real name Jack Curran, made a name for himself a while back by releasing a CGI flick that was a total one person effort, and it showed. On a conceptual level, it was sound, but visually speaking… not so much. Comparisons with the old Saturday morning kids show ReBoot often comes up, like with Destructoid most recently…

But for whatever reason, it got a ton of hits, and continues to do so today (1.5 million and counting). Two years later, Curran created a follow-up. You’d think after all that time, he’d become a bit more comfortable or proficient with his tools. Not really…

And thus we finally have the thrilling conclusion to the Dark Sage saga! Or at least its teaser…

Jesus, where to begin. I can’t decide who looks the most frightening; my vote is on Zelda. And why in the hell did he decide to give the Skyward Sword hair? I mean, if there was ever a reason to just use a smooth, shiny texture for hair, this is it. Also, does he have a donation button anywhere so people can pass along some scratch, to finally get some new software for Christ’s sake?
