VIDEO: Tim & Eric does ‘Saints Row: The Third’
In a move similar to Ubisoft’s hiring of Mega 64 to pimp their wares, we now have THQ enlisting the aid of the best thing ever to happen to comedy and crappy media.
You know what? Despite all the hype and hoopla surrounding the upcoming third edition of Saints Row, I honestly have not paid much attention to the game thus far, nor did I plan on caring when it eventually came out.
And guess what? My tune as completely changed. Why? Because I’m a diehard Tim & Eric fanboy…
Other than the fact that the dynamic duo doesn’t make an appearance, sadly, the above still contains all the Tim & Eric staples that one has come to expect and enjoy. You’ve got the wacky editing, fancy graphics, horrible haircuts, insightful commentary on media and pop culture as a while, plus an over abundance of “hads” (or “hot alcoholic dads”, a term that a pal of mine once coined), all literally plucked from the streets of Los Angeles.
There’s actually no game footage contained with the “episode”, not even in the two “commercials” that are contained within. But does it really matter? The more Tim & Eric goodness, the better, as far as I’m concerned. Though it’s worth noting that Professor Genki and his Super Ethical Reality Climax game show are contained within Third Row, so there’s at least some connection to the game.
Sadly, I know already that the actual thing will not be nearly as awesome, but then again, very little things can stand up to the brilliance of Tim & Eric. That’s just the way it is.
