VIDEO: Video game characters can be hipster douchebags too

Matt Hawkins Contributing Writer, Video Games

Is it any huge shock that the star from some indie darling would all think Mario is a big time, Hollywood sell out?

So there’s this bar in NYC called Burp Castle that is operated, or was once operated, by monks. And you know how they don’t speak, right? So the premise of the joint is that you can’t talk too loud, otherwise the bartender and the regulars will all tell you to hush.

Yes, a bar in which talking loud is a no-no. It’s about as obnoxious as it sounds. Anyway, it was there in which a pal of mine told me about (in hushed tones) the game Braid. And it’s star features prominently in the following video, in a rather coincidental and ironic fashion…

BTW, I am a huge fan of Braid. But much like many art house movies and certain bands, their hipster-dipster fans does much to diminish one’s enjoyment of the game. Does it ever.

What'd you think of this?
