VIDEO: Live-action ‘Luigi’s Mansion’ in the US, live-action ‘Mario Kart’ from Japan
Despite any cultural differences that might divide Americans and the Japanese, there’s one thing we both love doing, and that’s pretending to be the Super Mario Brothers.
First up is a live-action version of Luigi’s Mansion, with a little bit of Blair Witch Project tossed into the mix…
… It scores points alone for its use of those stupid internet pop-ups as a plot device (which I guess still exists; wouldn’t know myself, since I use ad blocker). Anyhow, and meanwhile, in Japan…
… Okay, granted, it’s not nearly as interesting as Rémi Gaillard’s take on the subject matter, since no pissed off security guards are featured.
But hey, it’s simply cute seeing two older business types rolling down the streets of Tokyo, much to the delight of bystanders. Anyhow, bonus video time, since it sorta merges the two: what Mario Kart “logic” would be like IRL, courtesy of Freddie Wong.
He’s an Asian American dude that does all manner of similar videos, all heavy on the special FX (you’ve no doubt seen a few already; his stuff gets around like crazy)…
