Your checklist for video game deals on Black Friday 2011
We’ve gone over a few killer deals already, but just to make sure everyone is up to speed, here’s all the info again, along with some updated and brand new info!
Many of you no doubt have plans of attack for tomorrow morning, or even midnight tonight in some cases. Please refer to the following, to make sure that you have all your facts and figures straight, to maximize your spending dollars and to ensure that you’ll be playing as many of the games you actually want in the coming weekend:
WAL-MART
Deals from America’s biggest big box dealer have been touched upon already, but to recap: they’re offering $100 for a blue-tinted Wii, a Kinect for the same amount, the Kinect/360 bundle for just $200, same for a 160GB PS3, and great deals on assorted titles, like Yakuza 4 for $10 plus Arkham City for $28.
GAMESTOP
Insentives from the country’s largest dedicated games seller have also been detailed previously, including LA Noire and Driver: San Francisco for $20, and Rage for just $30. But as Destructoid points out, they also have Rayman Origins for just $40 on the 360/PS3 and $30 on the Wii. Here’s your chance to get one of this year’s best games that no one’s talking about, and at a great price.
BEST BUY
Offering from the country’s largest dedicated purveyor of electronics is old news as well, but I totally forgot to mention the 250 GB Xbox 360 with Halo: Reach and Halo 3. And recently added is the $180 Fire Red 3DS package, with includes Super Mario 3D Land, or the Cosmo Black package, which includes Ocarina of Time 3D.
TARGET
For those of you heading over to Target, there’s the 4GB Xbox 360 for only $140, which is the cheapest asking price I’ve seen thus far…
HERE EVERYTHING’S BETTER
If you live in Texas, I’d follow Kotaku‘s suggestion and swing by HEB, to nab a Nintendo 3DS for just $100. That’s by far the best deal you’re going to find on the handheld anywhere, even used.
APP STORE
If you have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, Cult of Mac has a super helpful cheat sheet for you, of all discounts and freebies for the next few days. Pay particular attention to the deep discounts from both Sega and Nacomo.
Gunstar Heroes and Pac-Man: CE, both for just a dollar each? Outstanding. And Infinity Blade, a game that I find a bit hard to swallow for $7 is far more reasonable at $3, but again, for a limited time. Speaking of, one omission is Dark Meadow, that “sorta like Infinity Blade, but better and spookier” game I mentioned near Halloween. It too is just 99 cents.
STEAM
All the other major digital distribution channels are having sales as well. PC gamers has plenty of amazing steals to choose from; you can nab Portal 2 for just $10.19 and Mass Effect 2 for the ridiculous asking price of $4.99.
PLAYSTATION NETWORK
Dollars can be saved on PSN as well, 30% off PS3 games for regular folks, 50% for PlayStation Plus members (lol). The entire rundown can be seen here. I highly recommend Might & Magic Clash Of Heroes, btw.
XBOX LIVE MARKETPLACE
Finally, there are deals to be found over at on the 360, a whole bunch actually. Some are up right this second, with more to come on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
