Liberty City covered in sand is surprisingly neat

The wacky mod of the week for Grand Theft Auto 4 on the PC isn’t about Sonic the Hedgehog, Optimus Price or some other guest star running amok, but just a ton of sand all over the place.

For starters, the very idea of real life New York City becoming a desert is fairly interesting. And even though the mod itself is rough around the edges (or perhaps the person above just doesn’t have the strongest of PC gaming rigs), it shows how much fun one can have exactly.

Aside from vehicle’s being far more durable, since your hitting soft sand and not hard concrete every ten seconds, you can make all kinds of crazy jumps that would be otherwise impossible, like over the Brooklyn Bridge (or whatever the Liberty City equivalent is called).

Just add another mod that turns everyone into apes, and you’re all set!
