More characters added to Sony’s ‘Smash Bros’ wannabe

Matt Hawkins Contributing Writer, Video Games

Diehard fans of Infamous plus Jax and Daxter will be happy to know their leading men (and some kind of talking ferret-type thing) have been added to the roster of PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale. Such people exist, right?

Again, I’m just not feeling it. I supposed it’s a bit much to ask for the little touches that Nintendo employs in their all-star fighting games, which allows all the vastly different personalities to somehow make sense when brought together. As is, it’s even more awkward than how it’s supposed to be.

But if Sony can’t be bothered to worry about sweat the big stuff, like originality, how can they be mindful of the minor details? Though more than anything, this game spotlights what a bland history of 1st party games that Sony has. And while we’re at it, where’s Crash Bandicoot, or Spyro? Hell, even Blasto, remember him? Anyhow, a closer look at the latest entries…

I must admit, I like Cole’s special, where he distances himself from the action, while everyone else has to run around and deal with the calamity. Simply because it’s the ONLY original thing this game has brought forth. I also can’t wait for someone to tell me how this too was also lifted from Smash Bros and how I simply forgot…

What'd you think of this?
