It's certainly not a stretch to say that Auburn bought and paid for a national championship. Cam Newton was at one time offered $180k to play at nearby Mississippi State University. While some may dispute that claim, I simply respond with my middle finger.

The University of Auburn kicked a field goal as time expired to defeat Oregon in the BCS National Championship game.
