A 62-year old Alabama fan named Harvey Almorn Updyke is the man responsible for poisoning the oak trees at Auburn’s infamous Toomer’s Corner. We briefly hit on it this morning but supposedly Updyke called a local radio station to fess up to the dirty deed and played it off as a practical joke.

It’s certainly not a stretch to say that Auburn bought and paid for a national championship. Cam Newton was at one time offered $180k to play at nearby Mississippi State University. While some may dispute that claim, I simply respond with my middle finger.

Apparently, some folks in Alabama aren’t as amused by the Cam Newton situation as the rest of the country. A ‘DJ’ responsible for music at the Iron Bowl Saturday hilariously chose, “Son of a Preacher Man” and “Take the Money and Run” as Auburn took the field during pre-game warm-ups.
