But I will admit, this “Fly like a Cheesehead” remix set to B.J. Raji’s touchdown on Sunday is pretty darn good. As you can tell, my standard for “good” is somewhat low.

Lately, we’ve detailed how fans can often take rivalries a bit too far. Just last week, we had video of two young boys singing, “The Bears still suck”. And while it was cute and made for a hearty laugh you can’t help but wonder if their cheesehead parents forced them into it. That was nothing compared to the reaction some Bears fans had to the Jay Cutler injury though, burning and pissing on his jersey for thousands on YouTube to see.

So, this story about a car salesman being fired for wearing a Packers tie, I guess it’s not that big of a deal.

John Stone says he wore the Packers tie to work Monday at Webb Chevrolet in Oak Lawn to honor his late grandmother, who was a big Green Bay fan.

The sentimental gesture did not impress his boss, Jerry Roberts.

Roberts says the dealership has done promotions involving the Bears and he was afraid the tie could alienate the team’s fans and make it harder to sell cars.

Roberts went on to say that he gave Stone five chances to take off the tie before finally giving him the boot. Really? Five chances. Well then, kick his ass out the door.

I’m all for employees razzing each other offer their fan allegiances, perhaps a prank or two at work. But it should never result in getting canned.

That is, unless you’re a stinkin’ Michigan Wolverine and you’re under my employment. I like to take those aholes out back and beat them to a bloody pulp. That’s how you really deal with your rivals.

Savvy business move or maybe the CEO of Delta is a closet Green Bay Packers fan? Either way, the airline added 5 additional nonstop flights between Wisconsin and Dallas to capitalize on the numerous amount of people making the trek down there. “To DFW, Delta will operate a Boeing 757 flight from Milwaukee on Feb. 3 as well as a Delta Connection CRJ-900 regional jet flight from Green Bay. On Feb. 4, Delta will offer a flight on a Boeing 737 from Milwaukee.”

For the first time in the Australian Open, world #1 Caroline Wozniacki had lost a set and was down a break in the second. Her run to her first major looked in dire straights. But the Dane rallied against Italian Francesca Schiavone, a player 10 years older than her and took the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. Things don’t get easier for Wozniacki as she will take on probably the hottest player in the world, Li Na.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer has demanded a trade and if he doesn’t get it, he may very well retire according to several sources. The team, however, is not caving into the demands thus far. This year wasn’t exactly Palmer’s finest as he threw only 26 touchdowns to a whopping 20 interceptions. Definitely not the same player he was before that horrific knee injury against the Steelers in the playoffs in 2005.

After all the trash talking that went on via Twitter about Jay Cutler–how he wasn’t tough enough, how he didn’t have enough heart, etc…The team announced yesterday that Cutler has a grade 3 MCL sprain and probably would have been questionable for the Super Bowl had they even made it there. A sprain of that magnitude indicates a tear of the ligament itself so while Cutler may have looked mobile on the sideline, it would have been hard for him to plant and throw effectively.

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is having a rough 24 hour stretch. After injuring his knee in the 2nd quarter, Cutler went into the locker room to be assessed by team doctors. They thought he could give it a go after halftime but after testing it on the opening drive, he felt some instability. Whether he benched himself or the coaching staff told him to sit is a still a matter of debate. For what it’s worth, Lovie Smith said it was a coaching decision and not Cutler’s—how convenient.

Fans, analysts and players took to Twitter to call out Jay for his toughness–or should I say lack thereof.

Cardinals safety Kerry Rhodes:

Cmon cutler u have to come back. This is the NFC championship if u didn’t know!

Former defensive back and NFL analyst Deion Sanders:

Folks i never question a players injury but i do question a players heart. Truth

Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew:

Hey I think the urban meyer rule is effect right now… When the going gets tough……..QUIT..

When Cutler was told his peers were calling him out, he was brought to tears.

Cutler appeared genuinely hurt when asked about the comments, saying: “No comment on that.” He then turned his back to reporters, fiddled with some things on a shelf and bit his lip as tears welled

Well, if words can cause a few sniffles from the Bears quarterback, I imagine this video of fans pissing on his jersey may cause incessant sobbing.

Before yesterday, there were probably only a handful of Bears fans who were even familiar with 3rd-string quarterback Caleb Hanie. Considering that Jay Cutler had been playing fairly well the last few weeks and with a veteran backup behind him, the odds of Hanie getting into the game were slim to none. But slim to none happened as Cutler went down with a knee injury and Collins stunk up the joint. Hanie was able to get the Bears into the endzone but also threw two costly interceptions that ultimately cost them the game. His 65.2 rating however was more than 30 points better than Cutler’s.

121

When the Pittsburgh Steelers are running the ball effectively and playing solid defense, there aren’t many teams that can beat them. That was the case yesterday as the Steelers rode Rashard Mendenhall and his 121 yards to a victory over the New York Jets. More importantly, however, were the scrambles for first downs by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. He may have not had a great day in the air but on the ground, Big Ben’s runs proved to be the difference on many drives.

More than 15,000 fans were on hand to see Rafael Nadal move into the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. Nadal, who is attempting to complete the “Rafa slam” beat Marin Cilic in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, 6-3. The showdown between Nadal and his nemesis Roger Federer seems inevitable at this point. And really, Federer seems to be the only man standing between Nadal and a piece of tennis history.

Pop quiz hot shot? Who is the #3 player in the world? If you answered Tiger Woods, well, you either have no life or pay way too much attention to sports on the weekend. 2010 PGA Champion Martin Kaymar supplanted Woods as the world #2 when he won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship by 8 shots Sunday.

23.5

The blockbuster deal that was supposed to send Carmelo Anthony to the New Jersey Nets is officially dead according to team owner Mikhail Prokhorov. For the time being, Carmelo will stay a Nugget and the Detroit Pistons Rip Hamilton will have to continue to ride the pine until a home is found for him. Anthony is having a good year but by his standards, his points per game is down from 28.2 to 23.5. Certainly doesn’t mean he’s lost his touch but maybe, just maybe the rumors are affecting his game.

2010

Several sources in the Boston media are reporting that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will be undergoing foot surgery yet again. The problem? A recurring and perhaps chronic condition that he has dealt with all season. It appears the surgery will be today but there is a chance Brady pushes it to Monday. How will this affect the team going forward? Who knows, but the amount of pressure on Brady to perform week in/week out without a supporting cast is starting to wear thin.

16.5

Carl Pavano and the Minnesota Twins have agreed to a deal of two years and $16.5 million dollars. Pavano considered going to back to the Yankees where he struggled at times but ultimately thought that his performance last year in Minnesota earned him some time there again. “When you go through free agency, there’s a lot of big decisions that you have. Obviously I couldn’t walk away from the rapport I have with my teammates, the staff and the organization.”

2-6-11

If the Chicago Bears go to the Super Bowl, they’ll have some support from the Commander-in-Chief. Barack Obama has pledged that if his “hometown” Bears beat the Packers on Sunday, he’ll be in attendance at the Super Bowl in Dallas. Pretty brave statement considering Obama doesn’t even have tickets yet. Wonder who ends up paying for those? Hopefully not the taxpayers as lower level seats are going for as much as $1900.

How heated is the rivalry between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears? No doubt there will be fights galore this weekend as these two fanbases hate each other with a passion that is unmatched.

However, there are some who like to keep the rivalry a bit more lighthearted. Like these Packers fans who dressed up their kids in cheeseheads and forced them to sing, “The Bears still suck” for viewers on YouTube. And while I normally despise all things green and yellow, I have to say, I found this video both hilarious and adorable at the same time. I do wonder though why the younger tot is sporting Purdue gear. Apparently, his allegiances reside outside the state of Wisconsin.

0-3

Amazingly, 3-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady has now lost his last 3 playoff games. I say amazingly because Brady was nearly unstoppable in his first few years in the league in the post-season. But ever since the Spygate scandal and the loss in the Super Bowl to the Giants a few years ago, Bill Belichick and his band of merry men have been more of a regular season team. And dare I say, Brady has replaced Peyton Manning as the best “regular season quarterback”.

15

How successful an organization are the Pittsburgh Steelers? Well, next weekend they will play in their 15th AFC championship game. Thus far in the storied history of the franchise, they are 7-7 winning 6 Super Bowl including ones in 2005 and 2008. They are favored against the Jets at home next weekend and if quarterback Ben Roethlisberger continues his incredible play, they will no doubt head to their 8th Super Bowl. Truly an amazing statistic.

111.3

Jay Cutler’s postseason debut could not have gone better. His 274 yards and 111.3 QB rating was more than enough to push the Bears past the Seahawks at home yesterday. The knock on Cutler for years has been his inability to not make the “big mistake”. Interceptions, taking unneeded sacks, and fumbles at crucial times haunted him for years including part of this past regular season. But it appears Cutler has figured it out. Let the defense and special teams do a lot of the damage and just manage the game.

315

Despite his suspension from the Iowa football team and his drug possession charge, running back Adam Robinson wants back with the program. At a news conference yesterday, Robinson admitted to possessing marijuana and was given one-year probation with a $315 fine. Kirk Ferentz dismissed the running back on January 3rd but it appears Robinson has a legit shot to get back with the team, albeit not until the fall.

40,504

More than 40,000 fans showed up to TCF Bank Stadium yesterday, most of them Vikings supporters and watched a listless effort from the “home” team. The 40-14 loss was coupled with yet another injury from Brett Favre. It’s now a serious question whether the future Hall of Famer will even play another down this year. Dare we say he retires before the end of the season?

879

The hatred between Duke and North Carolina fans is about to get worse. With Duke’s win over Elon last night, Coach K tied the venerable Dean Smith with 879 wins. He needs 23 more victories to pass his old mentor Bobby Knight, a feat that may come this year if the Blue Devils continue to play the way they have.

3-10

In the preseason, the Broncos never thought they’d be in this position. Amidst a 3-10 record, a fired coach, and cheating scandals they’ve decided to hand the reigns to rookie quarterback Tim Tebow. And truthfully, what do they have to lose. Starting quarterback and veteran Kyle Orton seems to be taking it well. Granted, with that record and how putrid the team is playing, I’m not sure he wants to get in there anyways.

12

It was only a matter of time before the Miami Heat “heated” up. Their 12 consecutive victories were something most thought they’d pull off several times this season. But early injuries to Dwyane Wade and Mike Miller along with a lack of team chemistry has hurt them. Whether or not that was a factor in their loss last night to the Mavs is hard to tell. It could just be that the Mavs are playing that damn good and the zone is difficult to play against.

The Metrodome roof collapsing has essentially made a clusterf$%$ of the entire Vikings home field situation. Less than a week after playing a game at Ford Field in Detroit, the Vikings and the NFL decided that TCF Bank Stadium, home of the University of Minnesota, was in good enough shape to play on Sunday.

They just needed shovelers. And hundreds of them. At $10 bucks an hour, it was a no-brainer for many of the unemployed in the area.

Bowman said the university “needs no more help shoveling today,” but added that anyone interested in helping Friday should check back with the school later Thursday for updates.

The announcement came after hundreds of shovelers turned out at the stadium in the dark and cold hoping to get inside by 8 a.m. to pull a four-hour shoveling shift at $10 an hour. For many, however, the morning wait was painfully slow and frustrating. Dozens, in fact, were still outside by 9 a.m. Many soon left, numbed by the cold and disgusted by the long wait to get inside.

Ok, so the situation has been resolved. Wait, what’s that you say? The Bears want to file a protest for the game this weekend. This is officially getting ridiculous.

Reports emerged from Minnesota today that the Bears plan to protest the decision to play their game against the Vikings at TCF Bank Stadium. The league now denies that the Bears plan to lodge a formal complaint.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN.com that the reports of a Bears protest are “inaccurate.”

Maybe I’m confused as to how protests are lodged against NFL teams, but uh, does it really matter?

Chicago: We protest the game being played at TCF.
Commissioner: Ok, we’re still going to play the game there.
Chicago: Well, we strenuously protest.
Commissioner: Not sure how that makes a difference but thank you for the concern.

All in all, I like to blame God and Mother Nature for this ordeal. And yea, those engineers that constructed the Metrodome, they’re a huge part of the problem too.

Maybe, just maybe, you should account for thousands of feet of snow on top of your inflatable dome because you know, you’re in Minnesota and all.

The Metrdome roof collapsing has instantly become one of those videos you have to see. The roof, under the weight of heavy snow, collapsed as cameras caught the entire action inside the dome. The New York Giants-Minnesota Vikings game was later moved to Detroit’s Ford Field today and tickets are surprisingly free. The weather, however in Detroit, isn’t much better than Minneapolis. 48,000 people in the area are without power as the city tries to fight off this massive Midwest storm that has paralyzed the region.

369

I’m starting to believe that Tom Brady is either a sherpa or part polar bear. While everyone looked uncomfortable during the Patriots-Bears snowstorm game yesterday, Brady looked right at home. He passed for 369 yards and 2 TDs en route to a 36-7 beat down of the Bears at Soldier Field. His counterpart, Jay Cutler did not perform as well completing less than 50% of his throws and tossing two picks.

41

How far have the mighty fallen? The Miami Hurricanes hired Al Golden to replace Randy Shannon as head coach. Golden led the Temple Owls from a barely functional NCAA team to a MAC contender. The 41-year old, however, is not the big splash hire many “U” alums thought their school was capable of bringing in. But the days of Miami owning healthy recruiting grounds in the state of Florida are in the past and sadly, so is the football program.

A round of applause for former tennis great Martina Navratilova. Only months after undergoing radiation treatment for breast cancer, Navratilova’s attempt to peak Mount Kilimanjaro was halted after she simply had trouble breathing. Despite her failure, Navratilova was able to raise $80,000 for philanthropic projects supported by the Laureus Sports Academy, an association of 46 sports stars.

Carmelo Anthony will not sign a $65-million dollar extension with the Denver Nuggets unless he is traded to New York says ESPN.com. Although Anthony has not ruled out playing in Denver entirely, this kind of ultimatum doesn’t exactly scream loyalty. “Whatever decision I make, that is going to be the first thing that gets done,” Anthony said of signing the extension.

It’s as if Matt Millen is channeling all of his stupidity and ignorance into one single line.

“That guy right there is one of the best coaches I’ve ever been around”, Millen said during yesterday’s broadcast of the Dolphins-Bears game. The “guy” he is referring to is none other than Rod Marinelli, the same man who spearheaded the 0-16 season for the 2008 Detroit Lions.

As a diehard Lions fan who witnessed the Matt Millen production, “Decade of Doom”, I can’t say I’m entirely shocked by his stupidity. I guess, in a way, I’m more shocked that he’s gainfully employed by people who have any intelligence whatsoever.

Oh, you’re looking for an analyst? Why not that one guy who went 31-97 as a GM? He seems to really know the ins and outs of the game.

Felix Hernandez won only 13 games for the Mariners in 2010. That was more an indictment of Seattle’s putrid offense as opposed to Hernandez’ prowess on the mound. Thankfully, Cy Young voters saw right through that negligible stat and gave the American League award to “King Felix”. His final numbers on the season were astounding: 2.24 ERA, 232 strikeouts.

35

It’s not often you see fourteen goals in an entire game of hockey, let alone two periods. But that’s exactly what happened in last night’s affair between the Lightning and the Flyers. Steven Stamkos led the way with his second hat trick of the season en route to an 8-7 Tampa Bay win. Many are starting to wonder if Stamkos’ name can now be mentioned with Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin as the best players in the game. It might be a little early for the 20-year old, but thus far this season, he has been unworldly (35 points in 19 games).

187

The Chicago Bears are certainly making their case as the best team in the NFC. And it wasn’t that they shutout the Dolphins on the road last night, it’s that they absolutely dominated them allowing only 187 yards of total offense. Yes, their offense needs work and Jay Cutler isn’t the most trustworthy of quarterbacks, but in a year where most NFC teams are having problems off the field, the Bears are performing where it counts.

6

The fate of former MLB player Jim Leyritz now rests with a 6-person Florida jury. In December of 2007, Leyritz allegedly ran a red light while intoxicated and killed 30-year old Fredia Ann Veitch. His defense team is arguing that blood tests taken at the scene were unreliable. If convicted, Leyritz faces up to 15 years in prison.

180,000

It is not a matter of “if” Cam Newton is suspended, it is now a matter of “when”. As the FBI continues to look into the case, details of the payment plan have been leaked to the media. According to Kenny Rogers, one of the middlemen in the ordeal, a man named Bill Bell spoke to someone representing the Newton family and they asked for $80,000 the day after Cam Newton signed with MSU, $50,000 30 days later and another $50,000 30 days after that. The family claims they never gave anyone permission to represent them or talk on their behalf. Yea, that makes no sense to me either.

Guyism’s daily look at what’s hot in the world of sports.

4

Jay Cutler completed four passes to DeAngelo Hall on Sunday, which would be great, you know, if Hall wasn’t on the other team. In what can only be described as a staple of the Mike Martz offense, Cutler’s four interceptions to Hall tied a NFL record. One of them, a 92-yard return for a touchdown, proved to be too much for the Bears to come back from in a 17-14 loss at home to the dreadful Redskins.

50.4

Cutler wasn’t the only quarterback who struggled Sunday. NFL legend and sexting whore Brett Favre threw three second-half interceptions en route to a rare loss for him at Lambeau. Vikings coach Brad Childress was critical of Favre’s play after the game saying “You can’t throw it to them, you’ve got to play within the confines of our system..It always will be hard that way. It’s hard to overcome on the road”. Apparently, Favre must have sent Sterger those pics from a home game.

25

Despite going undefeated in the 2004-2005 season, Auburn was never ranked #1. In fact, the Tigers have not sniffed the top ranking since the 1985 season. But that all changed Sunday when the BCS computers vaulted them into the #1 spot ahead of Oregon and Boise State. But it may not be a ranking they necessarily want. The top ranked teams have been falling at will including Oklahoma’s loss at Missouri over the weekend.

4,000,000

Disgruntled NBA star Allen Iverson is apparently taking his talents to Turkey. After he wasn’t able to secure a contract with a NBA team, Iverson decided that playing overseas was his best bet. Besitkas of the Turkish pro-league will pay him four million dollars over two years including a stipulation that he will not able to leave mid-season for the NBA.

225

Raise your hand if you had Kenny Britt in your fantasy league yesterday? The Titans wide receiver, who was involved in a club fight only three days earlier had the best game of his career tallying 225 yards and 3 touchdowns. Maybe this will spark a new trend? Brawlin and ballin, I can see it now.

204

The most exciting finish of the weekend? No, it did not take place on a baseball or football field but rather on the 204-yard, 17th green at TPC Summerlin. In the 4th playoff hole of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospital for Children Open, Jonathon Byrd scored a hole-in-one to cap off the Fall PGA schedule.

Jay Cutler could handle eight sacks, but number nine finally did him in. The Bears’ quarterback suffered a concussion after he was repeatedly hit yesterday in the first half by the Giants defense. His status for week 5 is uncertain. His status for wanting to kill his offensive linemen and Mike Martz however remains extremely clear.

59

Josh Scobee kicked the 8th longest field goal in NFL history to defeat the Colts yesterday. It was the longest of his career and marks the 3rd time since 2007 that Scobee has beaten them with a last second field goal. Now if only the Jags could play like that against other teams.

31

Remember LaDainian Tomlinson? Just a few short years ago, he was arguably the best running back in the NFL and certainly one of the best in history. The Chargers wrote him off in the offseason citing old age and diminishing production. So he went to the Jets and the 31-year old pulled off his 47th 100 yard game against the Bills in Sunday’s game.

3

So which one is it Ms. Hong Su Jong? The North Korean gymnast has used three different birth dates for competition purposes ranging from 1985-1989. Age falsification has been a problem for gymnastics for quite some time. But never has something like this occurred. So on one hand I feel bad that people have been taking advantage of Jong for so long. On the other hand though, well, she sure does get her fair share of birthday cakes.

516

The last time both USC and Texas were unranked during the regular season, yea, it was a long time ago–516 weeks to be exact. The Trojans were stunned over the weekend by the visiting Huskies and Texas lost to bitter rival Oklahoma in the Red River rivalry making this the first since week 9 of the 2000 season that neither found themselves in the AP poll.

187

Texans’ running back Arian Foster finds himself in elite company today. After sitting out part of the game for disciplinary action, Foster came in to tally 187 yards from scrimmage in about 2.5 quarters. His offensive explosion thus far four games into the season has only been matched by two other players in history. Billy Sims and Emmitt Smith…both perennial pro-bowlers in their career.

9.5-6.5

Going into today’s Ryder Cup action, the U.S. finds themselves trailing the Europeans by three points. Considering the Americans were at one time leading this competition 6-4, it gives you an idea how the last session went. The Europeans stormed back to take command winning 5.5 out of a possible 6 points yesterday. But like all other Ryder Cups before, the singles matches will decide who takes home the trophy.

When you have 18 penalties in a single game, there’s a good chance that not only will the players/coaches be frustrated, but the fans might be a little too. So kudos to the Packers for trying their damndest to give every Cheesehead out there a heart attack. And yes, that includes this group of slightly exuberant albeit overly touchy Aaron Rodgers’ supporters.

Video has some NSFW language so if there are kids around, you may want to earmuff them

I’ve tried to pinpoint exactly when this occurred in the game but can’t put my finger on it. My best guess it that it was the Nick Collins interception deep in Packers territory with less than two minutes to play. And like one of the Aaron Rodgers fanboys intimates, a penalty wipes out whatever positive thing happened.

3,418

George Blanda, considered by many to be one of the greatest football players of all-time died yesterday at the age of 83. Blanda was one of two players to play in four different decades as his career spanned from 1949-1975. Because he was both a kicker and quarterback, Blanda accumulated 3,418 points in his career (unofficial stat).

152

MNF was certainly a flag fest last night for the Green Bay Packers. A whopping 18 penalties for 152 yards including a late pass interference call that led to a Bears winning field goal. The Bears are now the only undefeated team left in the NFC, although, their record is marred by a Calvin Johnson overturned TD in the first game of the season.

38

49ers’ offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye was fired yesterday by coach Mike Singletary. The reason? Well, it’s pretty simple actually. With two very talented players in Vernon Davis and Frank Gore, the Niners have only scored a paltry 38 points in their first 3 games.

368

The Philadelphia Phillies won their fourth straight NL East title last night defeating the Nationals 8-0. Dating back to 2007, the Phillies have had extremely consistent seasons winning between 89-94 games each year (they still have five remaining this year). For pitcher Roy Halladay, it is his first trip to the playoffs after 13 less than stellar seasons with the Blue Jays.

18

The 18-game NFL season is now a reality according to Colts owner Bill Polian. “I think that the owners, and principally the commissioner, have decided that it’s the way to go, and so the debate, such as it was, is over”, Polian said. It’s a wonder now if the NFL will consider shortening the preseason and possibly expanding the roster to deal with the injuries that will surely have more an effect on the game than ever.

9,318,378

Though John Daly has made over nine million dollars on the PGA tour and probably more than he can imagine in endorsements, he’s had his fair share of money problems. And now he’s not happy that a company is marketing his name on an alcoholic drink without his permission. He asked his fans on Twitter to contact him if they see the drink at any local bars. That John Daly I tell ya, always been a man of the people.

As a Lions fan, I don’t have many pleasures in life. When Barry Sanders came into the league, I regularly sported wood for three hours every Sunday. Watching that dude juke defenders all over the field, albeit in a Lions’ loss, was the highlight of a very sorry childhood.

But that was over a decade ago.

Since then, my Sundays have been full of expletives, middle fingers and general debauchery as I mapped out a plot to rid the earth of Matt Millen.

So when my eyes came across a video of a Bears’ fan humiliating himself at a tailgate, I felt compelled to post it. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Note to self, don’t get black out drunk at a Cowboys tailgate. Moreover, I particularly enjoyed the group of fans who posed for a photograph for well over a minute over the young lad. And if you by chance don’t want to watch the whole video, I completely understand. Just note, the Bears fan did wake up from his drunken stupor at the three minute mark. For awhile there, I was beginning to wonder if he was even alive.

By now, you’ve seen the touchdown that really wasn’t a touchdown but may have been a touchdown years before but isn’t a touchdown now. Yea, that’s essentially the predicament the NFL has left itself in after the bizarre Calvin Johnson overturned call that cost the Detroit Lions a rare win.

And of course, journalists, bloggers, and the obligatory irate fan took to social media to express their opinions.

Here is a brief glimpse of some of their reactions.

Minutes after the loss, this youtube video was posted. It’s simple, straight to the point, and borderline insane. But as a Lions fan for many years myself, I feel his pain. Warning, if you don’t like the f-bomb, this video probably isn’t for you.

The overwhelming theme from many Chicago fans and frankly those who are ignorant in the media is that it was Calvin Johnson’s fault. “He should have held onto the ball instead of spiking it” seems to be their rallying cry. But some like BTN basketball analyst Tim Doyle took it a step further by accusing Johnson of showboating. How dare he show some emotion after making an incredible game winning catch.

At last count, the “Calvin Johnson got robbed” Facebook group seemed to be the most popular amongst fans and the most knowledgeable. It includes NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s email and the NFL office phone number, address and fax. Because, as we all know, the NFL takes what “Dwayne from Detroit” has to say seriously.

Peter King, who is widely regarded as the most well-known NFL writer in America, shows his compassion for the lowly Lions.

Earlier this year, MLB umpire Jim Joyce robbed Tigers’ pitcher Armando Galarraga of a perfect game. And now with this occurrence, many Detroit fans are beginning to think they’re cursed by the ghost of Joyce himself. We saw some clever photoshops on Twitter, but this one seems to be floating around the most.

Pride of Detroit, the popular Lions’ blog on SBNation summed up the feelings of Lions’ fans everywhere after the loss. This excerpt doesn’t do the post justice.

And of course, this wouldn’t be complete without some incoherent babble from a guy wearing a Red Wings jersey and imitating the Allen Iverson “practice” press conference. And yes, this makes absolutely no sense. We’re all dumber for having watched it.

Urlacher, I don’t know how good he’s going to be coming back. He’s 33 years old. They need a couple wide receivers, a couple defensive backs. They haven’t done a good job. If Lovie doesn’t do it this year, I think he’s gone.”

Brian Urlacher didn’t take too kindly to the accusation that he was washed up and offered some of his own critique of Sayers career.

“Let me ask you a question: ‘How many championships did Gale Sayers win?”’ Urlacher told the Chicago Tribune. “How many playoff games did he win when he played? None. None. None.”

So we quickly went from constructive criticism to a rather childish type burn. Urlacher is certainly not lending himself to likability from some of the Bears all-time greats. And now, as if things couldn’t get any worse, he angered NFL great Dick Butkus

“It’s a real reach to say: ‘What did Gale do?’ [Shoot], Urlacher wasn’t even born yet, what does he know?” Butkus said. “I say things to other people, too, about the Bears. It’s total frustration. You think [Sayers] is saying it because he hates the Bears? You get so tired of sitting there watching them.”

I’m not privy to the daily happenings of Butkus’ life. But dare I say, angering him is not something any of us would want to experience. Including 33 year old linebackers who are indeed 3 years past their prime.

Maybe Urlacher needs a reminder
