Reports are trickling in that an earthquake clocking a 5.9 on the Richter Scale according to the US government hit the entire East Coast. Other reports say if you live on the East Coast, people on your Facebook feed are very confused.

UPDATE 1: There are conflicting reports about where the earthquake registered on the Richter Scale. Washington Post is saying 5.8, Google/the US government’s earthquake site is saying 5.9. We’re sticking with 5.9 for now.

UPDATE 2: Cell providers are having problems across the East Coast. We’re getting reports on outages with Verizon in the Pennsylvania area and personally experiencing problems with AT&T in the NYC area.

UPDATE 3: We have one of the first pictures of the damage in Washington DC. Beware, not for the faint of heart.

UPDATE 4: Cell service appears to be back across the country. And the villagers rejoiced.
