Well, this is a side of Freida we haven't seen before...

We haven’t seen much from Freida Pinto since all the hype over Slumdog Millionaire died down. In fact I can’t recall seeing her at all since then. Perhaps that’s why she decided to break out some sexy for the latest Interview magazine. Ah, yes, she’s in the upcoming Rise of the Planet of the Apes that I keep seeing on TV. Nothing like going from an Academy Award nominated flick to a movie with CGI monkeys to keep the career train a-rollin’. Still hot though.

1984… The Apple Macintosh is introduced. Michael Jackson’s hair catches on fire during a Pepsi commercial. The Edmonton Oilers defeat the New York Islanders to win their first Stanley Cup. The Detroit Tigers defeat the San Diego Padres in the World Series. And this amazing group of women was born.

(UPDATE: I made a boo-boo. These are the women of 1984, not 1985, as I first stated when I published this. My bad. I f–ked up. Still a good year though. 1985 is forthcoming…)

About the only good to come out the pukefest that was the Golden Globes telecast on Sunday was my discovery of Indian beauty Freida Pinto of Slumdog Millionaire fame. Haven’t seen it, might rent it now.

Freida Pinto is now my second favorite Indian actress behind Aishwarya Rai. Of course, before Freida Aishwarya Rai was the only Indian actress I knew, but still, it’s a prestigious honor…
