This wasn’t a very good weekend to premiere a movie that wasn’t Avengers, but it was extra bad for Miley Cyrus. The former Hannah Montana star’s slide into cultural irrelevance in a post-Bieber age continued with the opening of her new film, LOL. Distributor Lionsgate had been sitting on the flick for some time according to Movieline, and they just decided to put the gun in their mouth and take the shot last weekend.

So what happened? LOL, also starring Demi Moore, Gina Gershon, and Thomas Jane, took in one of the lowest totals of any movie in recent history, making $440 per screen. The entire opening weekend gross was $46,500. For comparison, that’s less than The Avengers made, on average, on just one screen. This has to be a serious blow to Cyrus’s post-Hannah Montana dreams. What’s going to happen to Miley? Will she become another Lindsay Lohan? Here’s the trailer for LOL, make up your own mind.

There were, of course, a bunch of Oscar parties in Hollywood last night, which also meant that there were a lot of sexy celebrity babes all dressed up and looking their best. One of the best parties was the 18th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Award Party. There were way hotter babes here than at the actual show, by the way. I’m going to leave out photos of the babes I already covered in our Oscar coverage from Sunday night since you’ve already seen them (right?). Babes in attendance at Elton’s party included (in order below): Demi Lovato, Christina Hendricks, Michelle Rodriguez, Olivia Munn, Hayden Panettiere, Lea Michele, Eva Amurri, Stacey Dash (with Jamie Foxx), Heidi Klum, Gina Gershon, Malin Akerman, Milla Jovovich, Katie Price, Victoria Beckham, and Kelly Brook.

Photographer Timothy White released a book of photos with pretty famous celebrity chicks half-naked in classic Hollywood pin-up photoshoot style. It’s a hot little collection that makes women whom I usually hate, like Kate Hudson below, completely tolerable.

Who knew that all you had to do to get famous women naked for photoshoots was to put your name on the book title? Given that bit of intel, look forward to my new book “Chris’s Big Book O’ Hollywood Gynecological Exams” in stores next December. The “O’” makes it classy; even classier than the idea of me doing the photoshoots with a camera phone, a shoehorn, and an overly enthusiastic smile on my face.
