Since we crank out so many stories each week some really good ones get lost in the cracks. And since so many new people visit Guyism every day (thank you), we thought we’d take some time on the weekends and holidays to share a few classics that many of our newer readers may have missed.

It’s that time of year again. Flip on the television and you’ll see every enjoyable Christmas movie from the past 30 years practically on repeat. Unfortunately, you’ll also end up coming across some of the worst movies, simply because they happen to be Christmas-themed. So, we figured we’d save you some time. Instead of sitting through the entire movie all over again, here’s a collection of some of the most entertaining moments from a bunch of the Christmas comedies currently popping up on your TV.

8 Bill Murray Butchers a Classic in Scrooged
Bill Murray stars as the selfish president of a television network, Frank Cross who becomes a modern day Ebenezer Scrooge. Well, not so modern anymore, considering the film came out in 1988, but you get the idea. In this clip, Cross does what a lot of Hollywood executives tend to do… completely butcher a classic. Watch as he presents his very own vision of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”.

7 Anything Arnold Says in Jingle All The Way
I know what you’re asking yourself, “How could a movie star both Arnold Schwarzenegger AND Sinbad and not manage to win a single Oscar?” Seriously though, Jingle All The Way is one of the hardest movies to sit through. But that doesn’t stop it from showing up on all of our televisions during the month of December. If you haven’t been unlucky enough to endure a full viewing already, this clip will save you a lot of pain and also give you a little piece of the only entertaining thing about the film… Arnold’s accent.

6 Tim Allen’s Sarcasm in The Santa Clause
Tim Allen’s response to what he and his son, Charlie did before going to sleep on Christmas Eve in The Santa Clause is simply classic. It sums up Allen’s humor perfectly and is a perfect example why this movie is enjoyable for all ages. Also, is it too much to ask for Judge Reinhold to have a Robert Downey Jr.-esque career resurrection? The guy is just so damn loveable. Let’s give him another go, Hollywood.

5 Ralphie Actually Shoots His Eye Out in A Christmas Story
If you’ve managed to get through multiple Christmases without ever seeing A Christmas Story, then you must celebrate your Christmases in a cave. For the rest of us though, we all know that all little Ralphie Parker wants for Christmas is “an official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock, and this thing which tells time”. After having to suffer through numerous adults telling him he’ll shoot his eye out, Ralphie finally gets what he wants… and then proceeds to pretty much shoot his eye out.

4 Buddy The Elf Confronts The Department Store Santa in Elf
Will Ferrell dressed as an over-sized elf and Artie Lange dressed as an appropriately-sized Santa, going at it and terrifying a group of small children in the process. Nothing sums up the spirit of Christmas quite like violent behavior. In fact, if you haven’t gotten into a similar altercation at one of your family’s holiday gatherings, you’re not spiking the egg nog with enough rum.

3 Clark Griswold is A Bit “Nipple-ly” in Christmas Vacation
I know it’s hard to believe today, but there was a time when Chevy Chase was actually considered funny. His comedic timing (as seen in the scene below) is what the Vacation movies were all about. Throw in the timelessly-hot Nicolette Scorsese showing off some of her best assets and suddenly your Christmas has become a whole lot merrier.

2 The Boxing Lesson in Bad Santa
It’s hard to choose just one clip from the hilariously raunchy Christmas movie, Bad Santa. It’s one of those films that keep you laughing throughout. It’s become as much as a Christmas time necessity as It’s A Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street in my opinion. Maybe even more so. The clip below serves as proof that seeing someone get punched in the junk is always funny and only gets funnier the more frequently it happens.

1 Daniel Stern’s Scream in Home Alone/Home Alone 2
It isn’t officially the holidays until little Macaulay Culkin pops up on your screen to wreak havoc over and over again on Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. The original two Home Alone films have become a staple this time of year. There are a lot of classic moments in the films, but nothing seems to beat the high-pitched girl scream that Daniel Stern bellows every time he finds himself in a horribly painful situation.
