It turns out that fictional TV and movie characters love grabbing a drink just as much as the rest of us. After watching our favorite characters slam back brews at the following locations, it’s safe to say our livers are a little envious.

10 MacLaren’s – How I Met Your Mother

I’m not sure there are too many dudes out there that would pass up the chance to grab a beer with Barney Stinson. This laid-back Irish pub has plenty of booths and a menu that boasts an impressive eleven deep-fried appetizers. Of course, the atmosphere is improved a thousand-fold by the patronage of more than a few very attractive women… who may or may not be ready to give you a chance after encountering the previously mentioned Stinson.

9 Moe’s Tavern – The Simpsons

Moe’s Tavern is the dive bar to end all dive bars. If you don’t mind the permanent layer of dirt and the expired jar of pickled eggs, then you’ll find plenty to tolerate about Homer’s favorite hangout. The Duff flows freely, there’s a tiny TV in the corner, and if you’re lucky you just might catch the owner on the wrong side of a prank call.

8 The Bada Bing! – The Sopranos

The Bing is an establishment that has more shaking than the occasional martini. Yes, this gentleman’s club is jam-packed with attractive young ladies who are more than willing to help you part with your hard-earned money. Beyond the scenery, The Bada Bing! also serves up an impressive selection of top-shelf spirits. Just be sure to pay your bar tab after you’re done… or you might find yourself ending your evening in a shallow pit somewhere.

7 The Snakehole Lounge – Parks & Rec

Hey, if Tom Haverford says something is “off the chain,” then you know it’s got to be good. Okay, maybe not, but as far as small-town establishments go this one is about as good as it gets. With all the faux class of a large chain restaurant, you’ve got a dark-lit dance floor and plenty of custom cocktail options to keep your night going. If you’re feeling like getting blitzed, ask for the “Schrempf Cocktail.” Named after Indiana legend Detlef Schrempf, this drink is nothing more than a big glass of Jagermeister.

6 Ten-Forward – Star Trek: The Next Generation

A pub that’s located on a spaceship and bartended by Whoopi Goldberg? Uh… yes please. Situated on the 10th deck of the U.S.S. Enterprise, Ten-Forward was the go-to place for Captain Picard and his crew to unwind. Whether you showed up as part of the inner group or not, it would be great to sit back and hear a few tales from Mr. Patrick Stewart himself.

5 The Bronze – Buffy The Vampire Slayer

While initially positioned as more of a coffee shop then a bar, beverage offerings became a little more adult as Buffy came of drinking age. Though it’s been through a revolving door of refurbishments, the constant relaxed atmosphere makes it a great place to sit back and vampire watch. If you’re lucky, you might just catch a bitchin’ bar fight on the right night. Or, even better, a live set from Sunnydale’s local band, Dingoes Ate My Baby.

4 The Gem Saloon – Deadwood

Granted, the Gem Saloon isn’t exactly the safest place to grab a drink –- piss off the wrong person and you just might get stabbed to death. However, if you ever find yourself in the year 1877, then this infamous saloon is one of the better options for grabbing a few shots of whiskey. Of course, for those who need a little extra company, the attached brothel is ready to accommodate.

3 Mos Eisley Cantina – Star Wars

In some ways Mos Eisley is The Gem Saloon of a galaxy far, far away. It’s filled with less than upstanding citizens and the death of a patron is almost a daily occurrence. Of course, if you’re planning a droid’s birthday, then you’ll have to go elsewhere –- as these mechanical beings are not allowed inside. However, you may be willing to leave your droid friends at the door to take in a few songs from the always-great Mos Eisley Cantina Band.

2 Paddy’s Pub – It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Given the inconsistency of opening hours offered by Paddy’s Pub, it would be difficult to visit this bar even if it actually existed. Quoted as, “The Worst Bar in Philadelphia” by local critic Lyle Corman, there’s really not all that much to love about the place. However, the accosting nature of the employees lends the place a certain kind of kitschy charm. Plus, come at the right time, and you might enjoy an impromptu dance off or nice round of gambling with some Vietnamese businessmen.

1 Cheers – Cheers

Cheers is the ultimate TV pub. I mean, seriously, how could you not want to go to a place where everybody knows your name? While you’re trying to keep your number of drinks up to pace with Cliff and Norm, you’ll have plenty of good conversation and the occasional laugh at Woody’s expense. Of all the bars in Boston, one thing’s for sure: this place is a hundred times better than that crap hole Gary’s Old Towne Tavern.

Two crimefighters. A guy that lost a hand to a seal. A functional illiterate that writes a musical. The marksman with one eye and a tin mask. They’re all here on our list of TV’s most beloved characters with disabilities.

10 Buster Bluth, ‘Arrested Development’
Buster Bluth lost his hand in a bad accident, where it was devoured by a seal. At first he had it replaced by a hook, which he got stuck in the dashboard of the “stair car”, which was replaced for a brief interval with Gob’s puppet Franklin. Then he finally got it replaced with a prosthetic hand. Buster is also addicted to juice.

9 Richard Harrow, ‘Boardwalk Empire’
Though he came home a hero, Harrow’s face was gruesomely disfigured while fighting in World War I. He wears a tin mask to cover the left side of his face, where he is badly scarred and missing an eye. There is a tenderness about him, which is odd since he excels as a marksman, and is basically a mercenary for Jimmy Darmody. But he exudes calm and loyalty even when it’s clear that he no longer wants to live.

8 Corky Thatcher, ‘Life Goes On’
If you grew up in the 80s or even the 90s, you probably watched Life Goes On with your family. The star of the show was Corky, who was born with Down Syndrome. But he never let that get in the way of anything he wanted to do in life, and he was an inspirational character that was both funny and touching. Corky is one of the more important characters in television history, having changed the way that many view people with Down Syndrome.

7 Robert T. Ironside, ‘Ironside’
The first of two wheelchair-bound crimefighters on our list, Robert T. Ironside was paralyzed from the waist down after getting shot by a sniper. It forced him to retire from the San Francisco Police Department, but he was able to remain involved with the force as a “special consultant.” Ironside was a braniac of sorts, relying on his intellect to make up for his physical disability. America loved Ironside, watching him for 8 seasons and almost 200 episodes.

6 Artie Abrams, ‘Glee’
The bespectacled nerd from Glee, Artie Abrams was left paralyzed after a car crash when he was 8 years-old. Being confined to a wheelchair has not stopped Artie from becoming one of the most talented kids at McKinley High. He plays a mean guitar, rocks out in the school’s jazz ensemble and shows his smarts in the academic decathlon. His performance to Billy Idol’s “Dancing with Myself” is one of the show’s most memorable moments.

5 Timmy Burch, ‘South Park’
Tim-may! Who doesn’t love South Park’s Timmy Burch? No one can say with certainty what ails Timmy, but on the South Park Web site he is said to have “a strange combination of palsy and Tourette’s.” Though his speech is basically limited to saying his own name, it hasn’t prevented Timmy from becoming the front man of an awesome metal band. Timmy also has major guts, picking what turned out to be an epic fight with Jimmy Valmer.

4 Jimmy Valmer, ‘South Park’
An aspiring stand-up comedian, Jimmy Valmer has a physical disability that forces him to use crutches. While he did engage in that throwdown with Timmy Burch, the two later became best buds. Jimmy also has to deal with a stuttering problem, which sometimes throws a wrench in his comedy routines. But he always wins favor with crowds when he lets loose his patented catchphrase, “Wow, what a great audience!” Jimmy is both level-headed and loyal, and it’s no wonder that he is on this list.

3 Joe Swanson, ‘Family Guy’
Joe Swanson is basically a modern saint. If you think of all the things he has put up with from his neighbor Peter Griffin, you realize that Joe may be the best friend any man could have. While most people would have killed Peter by now, Joe remains a loyal friend and companion, even though he is often the butt of his jokes. Though he is a paraplegic, Joe is an amazing police officer and loving family man. And when he bellows out his trademark “Let’s Do It!!”, it’s hard not to get pumped.

2 Walter White Jr., ‘Breaking Bad’
Junior is the sweetest character on the list, and anyone would be lucky to have a son like him. His devotion to his family is shown over and over. He showed remarkable patience and understanding this season when he was forced to return the brand new hot rod he received from his father. He also took charge when his dad got sick and set up a Web site to raise money for his treatment. His speech is impaired and he needs the help of crutches to walk due to cerebral palsy, but he doesn’t let it slow him down.

1 Charlie Kelly, ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’
Charlie Kelly is a functional illiterate, but since he works as a janitor at Paddy’s Pub it doesn’t hold him back very much. He also doesn’t let it deter him from his creative side. Charlie has written many songs and even put together a stirring musical. But he’s not without faults. He’s a stalker, doesn’t bathe much and is prone to freaking out. Those can be glossed over since he also created one of the greatest mascots ever in “Green Man,” and one of the tastiest dishes: milk steak with a side of jelly beans.

The one thing I love about old people is the quiet dignity they have when doing something like this or while reading Kanye West’s tweets. He just looks so composed, particularly for someone wearing a towel with the pattern of comically undersized and oversized genitalia on it.

Then again, if he’s afflicted with dementia, this becomes much less charming. “Where’d my big penis go,” is never a good question for Grandpa to ask when he gets dropped back at the old folks’ home.

The lovely Emily Deschanel of the hit Fox show “Bones” was married this weekend to actor/director David Hornsby, who I couldn’t quite put my finger on where I had seen him before. Then I added a beard, decrepit green jacket, some dirt on his face and two trashcans and realized exactly where I recognized him from.

You know how you see a picture of an actor and you know that you’ve seen him before from something, but can’t quite figure out where? That’s what I did this morning when I saw a picture of the newly wed (and extremely hot) Emily Deschanel and her new husband David Hornsby. I just couldn’t figure out why I knew the guy. Turns out that’s because I’d never really seen him in anything where he wasn’t dressed like a crazed homeless person.

Rickety Cricket! “You gotta make it sexy. Tips and nips!” The guy that’s been hunted, beaten, had his life ruined by the “It’s Always Sunny” crowd is married to Emily Deschanel. Fox may not be able to keep it’s shows on for more than one episode, but it seems they are still finding ways to bring people together off-screen. If they’d have only had this kind of luck with “Arrested Development,” we’d all be living happily ever after right now.

Now we flash forward a few years from now when Hornsby wishes he hadn’t signed that pre-nup.
