It’s a compelling interview but fails to address the very fact that Sterger brought this on herself. Had she not bragged to her friends and a blogger about the voicemails and texts messages Favre sent her, she would probably still have a job somewhere in sports entertainment. Instead, she’s left picking up the scraps as an unemployed has-been.

In it, Sterger says she just wants her life back, to go back to work, and enjoy entertaining people and making them laugh. Something she hasn’t been able to do for months as she’s been lying low, waiting for the scandal and jokes to blow over.

Shortly after the scandal gained heat, Sterger’s show, “The Daily Line” was canceled on the Versus network. According to executives, the move had nothing to do with the Favre issue but rather the dismal ratings it was getting. Unfortunately for her, the numbers backed them up. Where her career goes after this interview is a mystery. She certainly parlayed her fifteen minutes of fame into a several year gig, but in the end, she’s nothing more than another pretty face in a highly competitive female sideline reporter environment.

Sports, ESPN and CBSSports.com. That’s the stuff you want to be reading, and there’s no chance that shoddy spam bloggers can infiltrate the first page of Sloan’s search results.

This becomes entirely more problematic when you’re looking for something a little more obscure, like, say, information about the 17-year-old with whom Mark Sanchez was getting his freak on. That’s because there’s a chance you might search for something like “Sanchez 17-year-old,” which happens to be the eighth-most popular search on Thursday.

In case you’re not aware, crap like Entoogle.com (OMFG I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW THAT I WROTE FOR THEM!), Babble.com, RealEstateRadioUSA.com and Khabrein.info (which has an entry title, “Mozilla Firefox 4 beta 11 and Mark Sanchez 17 year old girl friend,” SMDH) pollute your ability to find useful information by whoring out to whatever Google is finding.

There are also content farms that stem from people with tons of money (Bleacher Report stands out in the sports realm) that don’t provide the substance you want when you search for “Jenn Sterger,” unless you’re actually looking for a 10-picture slideshow that explains why the Brett Favre scandal is awesome for her.

Using that as an example, let’s (finally!) get down to business and figure out how to search for something without having to wade through a pile of crap. First, search for whatever you want, in this case Jenn Sterger.

Okay, see that purple link at the bottom? That’s probably not relevant to you, unless you love pointless slideshow explanations with intermittent newsletter pop-ups. But what I recommend doing is building up a list of terrible sites you never want to see again and saving them as text document using either Notepad (Windows) or Text Edit (Mac). Whenever you start searching stuff, pop it open and copy it into the window. It’s a little bit of extra work but it’s certainly not as tedious as wading through the muck of results that you can end up dealing with on a normal basis.

Either way, you’re now armed and prepared to go forth and find out what porn star is having sex with which famous person, all while avoiding spam sites with Google’s search.

Lord knows they won’t be fixing it any time soon — especially since all those peddlers of worthless information just so happen to use Google Ads anyway.

Stop us if you’ve heard this before, but Brett Favre is considering retirement. According to several sources, Favre put in his retirement papers today. In past years however, that hasn’t stopped Favre from changing his mind several months later. But given the amount of problems Favre had with the Vikings on the field combined with his numerous off-field problems, it seems that this actually might be for real this time. At 41-years old, Favre’s consecutive starts streak was snapped this year amidst a numerous amount of injuries including a major concussion and his multiple problems with his surgically repaired ankle. On top of that, for the first time in his career, you could make a strong argument that having him start under center didn’t necessarily give his team the best chance to win.

Off the field, his problems have been well-documented here. Not only were pictures of his penis plastered all over the internet, but rumored relationships with Jenn Sterger and a harassment suit from two Jets’ massage therapists still loom over his head.

In the opinion of this author, Brett Favre is done. I’d be completely and utterly shocked if he decided to come back for another year. Yes, I’ve been wrong before but this time, it just seems like too much for the gunslinger to overcome.

Brett Favre’s days on a football field may be over now, but his days in a courtroom may have just started. Two former part-time employees of the New York Jets, Christina Scavo and Shannon O’Toole, filed a lawsuit alleging Favre sexually harassed them and ultimately, cost them their job.

The allegations and stories have been out there for awhile so this comes as no surprise. Although the details of some of the text messages are relatively new.

The harassment suit — filed by Christina Scavo and Shannon O’Toole — claims Favre sought to have group sex with Scavo and an unnamed third therapist. He allegedly texted: “Brett here you and crissy want to get together im all alone.” And a second message cited in the lawsuit said, “Kinda lonely tonight, I guess I have bad intentions.”

“Eyed her like a hanging slab of beef?” I’m sorry, I’m going to need a few moments to get over that line. Listen, I hate Favre as much as anybody, he routinely eviscerated my Lions for an entire decade. But Christina Scavo needs to get over herself. If both her and O’Toole had such a problem with the way they were treated, this would have been an issue years ago.

Instead, they waited for Deadspin.com to drop dong photos of the Wrangler man before they acted. Sorry, your harassment story carries much less weight years later ladies.

Suit: Brett Favre Wanted Group Sex [CBS News]

The Brett Favre-Jenn Sterger case has seemingly come to a close as far as the NFL is concerned. After months of investigation into whether Favre harassed the Jets employee, the NFL found it could not decide one way or another if it actually happened.

Laymen’s terms? They weren’t sure if that was a picture of Brett Favre’s junk posted all over the internet. How convenient. Roger Goodell did however fine the Wrangler man $50,000 for failure to cooperate fully in the investigation.

Word on the street was they wanted a shot of his dong to compare.

The league said commissioner Roger Goodell “could not conclude” that Favre violated the league’s personal conduct policy based on the evidence currently available to him.

“The forensic analysis could not establish that Favre sent the objectionable photographs to Sterger,” the statement said. “The review found no evidence to contradict the statements of both Favre and Sterger that they never met in person, nor was there anything to suggest that Sterger engaged in any inappropriate conduct.”

Sterger now has an opportunity to explore civil options in the court of law. Although, who knows if she’ll really continue this charade. She’s had her fun in the sun as Brett Favre’s embarrassingly small weiner was live for the world to see. Any opportunity she had at claiming some kind of monetary prize has probably gone by the wayside now.

She’ll now have to return to a sideline flashing her chesticles in the lame hopes that Brent Musberger is feeling like a horny, old man again.

In the never-ending cycle of Jenn Sterger trying to remain relevant comes word that she has more photos of Brett Favre that she plans on releasing to the public. That is, if the NFL doesn’t drop the hammer on him.

Sterger’s manager, Phil Reese, believes she “provided extensive evidence that irrefutably proves there was harassment” — and adds, “No matter what happens Jenn has all legal remedies, including going public … if the NFL doesn’t clear her name.”

Sterger’s camp insists she has more evidence than the photos that have already come out. Reese adds, “We sincerely hope the league does the right thing.”

What a lame, transparent attempt by the Sterger team. If she was so concerned about the alleged harassment, why not come forward two years ago when it actually occurred as opposed to waiting for Deadspin to buy pictures from her “friend”.

And let’s not mince words here, I’m all for bringing down guys who send dong pictures to unwilling participants, especially guys named Brett Favre. But the sleaziness with which Sterger’s manager has gone about this mess, in some ways, has made me hate her more than the gunslinging Wrangler man.

The most compelling story of Sunday’s sports action was not on the football field and it was not in the wacky BCS standings, it was at the Chevron World Golf Challenge. Tiger Woods had taken a 4-stroke lead into the day’s action and looked poised to win his first tournament of the year. But his playing partner was no slouch. Graeme McDowell was the reigning U.S. Open Champion and for all intents and purposes was the best golfer in the world. And he proved it with a stunning finish as he dropped a putt in regulation and in the playoff to beat Woods.

Of course, our morning round-up would not be complete without the idiocy of the BCS. Yes, the championship game looks like it will work out like it was supposed to with Oregon and Auburn. However, a four loss UConn team will also play in the Fiesta Bowl as the Big East Champion while a one loss MSU team, that won the Big Ten, was left out in the cold. Wisconsin sneaked into the Rose Bowl despite losing to MSU which, by logic, makes absolutely no sense.

You really have to hand it to Jenn Sterger and her PR team. Every time you think she’s going to disappear for a few weeks, she somehow, comes creeping back into the spotlight.

The latest news involves Sterger’s representatives claiming she had no financial interest in the Brett Favre sexting scandal. That directly refutes a story from earlier in the week from Favre’s agent, Bus Cook, who said that numerous overtures were made for a settlement from the Sterger camp.

“There have never been any conversations (about money) other than the one time I talked to Bus Cook a day before the story broke,” New York-based manager Phil Reese said in a phone interview. “He asked if we had a specific figure in mind. I told him, ‘I wish it was that easy. I really wish it was.’

“There have been absolutely no settlement talks. When this happened two years ago, (Sterger) wanted no part of this mess. It really sucks for everyone involved. It’s not like we’re angling a way to profit off this. It’s really a terrible situation here. There are no winners here.”

Somebody’s clearly lying here and considering both parties proclivity to tell a fib or two, we’ll probably never find out the real truth. Honestly, it doesn’t matter either way at this point as the story has run its course as far as I’m concerned. We have the pics, the voicemails, the sexts, the massage therapists, the lying, and the wife on Good Morning America. The only thing this was missing was the obligatory sex tape from Jenn Sterger’s past. Which, if you must know, I’m more than interested in purchasing.

As the days and weeks go on, I sincerely believe there’s now a chance that Derek Jeter, the pride of the New York Yankees, will be in a different uniform next year. After initially being offered a 3-year, $45 million dollar deal, Jeter and Yankees management have gone back and forth using the media as their middleman. The worst thing for Nebraska fans this weekend wasn’t the 9-6 loss to Texas A&M, no, that was the least of their concerns. Rumors began swirling late Saturday night into Sunday that their Heisman candidate and quarterback Taylor Martinez had quit the team. It had gone so viral that it was the #1 search on Google last night and it forced Cornhuskers coach Bo Pelini to address it. “He’s still on the team,” Pelini said. We’ll see about that.

Jenn Sterger took time out of her insanely busy schedule and sat down with NFL investigators to discuss the Brett Favre saga. You’ll forgive Sterger as she is in a bit of a free-fall after her show, The Daily Line, was pulled from Versus for poor ratings.

Her agent, Phil Reese, told the AP in an email that “we cooperated fully by providing them with substantial materials in our possession. We now await the NFL’s decision.”

Substantial? Hold on a second there, I’ve seen the pics myself (sadly) and substantial is not exactly the word I’d be using to describe it.

At the very least, it appears there is some light at the end of the tunnel for this whole debacle. If she’s indeed told the NFL that Favre sent her voicemails and dong photos, we can expect some kind of disciplinary action sooner rather than later. Because as much we all enjoy laughing at Brett Favre off the field, if it’s all the same to you, I’d like to keep the hilarity to his timely interceptions and faux retirements.

Jenn Sterger has had a bad go of it lately. While the NFL waits for Sterger to cooperate in their Favre investigation, her management team continues to bungle public perception about her intentions. Is she waiting for the Jets to offer her some kind of financial settlement for the alleged harassment? Who knows at this point. What we do know is that her show on Versus, “Daily Line”, has been canceled for poor ratings.

Versus has cancelled its daily news show “The Daily Line” after just seven months. A network spokesperson confirmed the move, citing the show’s anemic ratings. Since its April debut, “The Daily Line” has averaged just 53,000 viewers for each live show.

If you were a fan of the show, my deepest apologies. Not because you’ll miss such riveting TV but because you have arguably the worst taste in entertainment since NBC decided to run “Joey”.

As for Sterger, one could probably argue that the timing of this is a bit odd. But considering that Versus already moved the show from 6pm to 11pm to try and get better ratings, well then, there isn’t much leg for this argument to stand on.

Allison Torres, a friend of former Jets reporter Jenn Sterger, says she also saw the pictures of Brett Favre’s penis. So I think it’s safe to say that the “2 Girls, 1 Dong pic” is already being filmed.

Is this really unfortunate for anyone outside of Brett Favre? I mean, if anything, Jenn Sterger got at least two to three job offers from the adult film industry that she normally wouldn’t have gotten.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced but we’ll be sure to update you as the day goes on.

Before the season, most experts penciled the Dallas Cowboys as a playoff team. Some even had them winning the NFC altogether. But as it stands now, America’s team will be lucky to not have the first pick in next year’s draft. Their 1-5 start was made worse last night when starting quarterback Tony Romo broke his left clavicle. The injury will sideline him for at least 6-8 weeks. Guessing Romo won’t want to rush back for those last two games.

The tragic death of U.S. swimmer Fran Crippen is being investigated by officials. Crippen died during the 10-kilometer World Cup marathon swim that was held in United Arab Emirates over the weekend. There is speculation that Crippen not only died as a result of over exertion but also from the temperature of the water (85 degrees).

The trapped Chilean miners, all 33 of them, were honored at the Presidential palace yesterday. They also had time for a 40-minute soccer match that included rescuers and government officials. Unfortunately, the miners blew an early 2-0 lead and lost. President Pinera made light of the situation, “The winners will return to the presidential palace, and the losers will go back down the mine!”. That’s how they roll in Chile.

Jay Cutler completed four passes to DeAngelo Hall on Sunday, which would be great, you know, if Hall wasn’t on the other team. In what can only be described as a staple of the Mike Martz offense, Cutler’s four interceptions to Hall tied a NFL record. One of them, a 92-yard return for a touchdown, proved to be too much for the Bears to come back from in a 17-14 loss at home to the dreadful Redskins.

The most exciting finish of the weekend? No, it did not take place on a baseball or football field but rather on the 204-yard, 17th green at TPC Summerlin. After much deliberation, LaRusso and Conway has been retained to represent Jenn Sterger and to advise her throughout the process. Joseph Conway will serve as lead counsel on this matter.

It appears, thus far, that Sterger has yet to cooperate with the NFL in their internal investigation. Whether this means that she plans on taking some kind of legal action against any or all parties involved remains to be seen.

Deadspin editor A.J. Daulerio was also contacted by the VP of NFL security today. Daulerio, however, was not willing to reveal his source nor for that matter where the pictures came from. Something I’m sure both the NFL and Sterger herself are more than interested in.

The fact that someone has been holding on to photos of Brett Favre’s dong (allegedly) for more than two years is actually quite disturbing, more so because they profited such a large amount for you know, a relatively small issue.
